Did they delete their Facebook? Won’t come up for me.

They changed the name of their facebook page to "Santa's Workshop".

Didn’t Murphy Paul say there weren’t any gangs active in Baton Rouge.
“Nothing to see here “.
He said it at one of the press conferences they held to tell us how hard they were working to solve the murder of Allie Rice.

During the press conference after the drive buy in front of J Alexander's at the mall he admitted there were nine "groups" operating in the area and hid behind the technicality that I guess gangs have leadership and a well defined identity and I guess all we have are a bunch of idiots with semi automatic weapons who make youtube videos and think they're rappers.

The three ladies story has been a bore. Just a bunch of gossipping back and forth but for a little bit of action last night. Could've cut out of show and no one would've noticed.

Their only purpose is being the conduit to the Russian thieves storyline.

The friend of the actress who was from Texas also knew the mom from North Carolina and they have mutual friends, and didn't give up her phone like the NC family did. That's probably going to come back around in the finale too.

You should be able to swap a spell out when you level up but there's also an NPC that will let you (and your companions) respec if you need a more serious fix to your/their builds later.

Wouldn’t they still exist in the original timeline? Their mothers would still have given birth to them

Their mothers spontaneously gave birth while not having been pregnant because of the marigold. So without the marigold in the timeline, they're never born.

Tell that to the family in U Club whose house burned down BRFD arrived on scene literally two minutes after St. George FD.

If the house still burned down, it sounds like paying for two fire departments didn't really help much.

They will still get that same level of service when they are only paying for one fire department.
quote:

I'd find that hard to believe. I'm not sure how much the split will affect us, but we are down the road from a StG fire department that services our neighborhood.

Accidentally posted twice so edited to address this one: Your fire district did not change. If you were in the City of Baton Rouge and being serviced by the St. George fire district you still will be. If you were in the City of St. George and being serviced by the St. George Fire District, congratulations - you are no longer also paying for BRFD that you were never getting.

I am also interested in what the plan was or still is for that that long and narrow meandering piece of StG that kind of follows the river up to creating a very small shared boundary with Central.

Apparently creating a shared border with Central allows St. George and Central the option to partner together for services should they so choose in the future.

I thought Batin Rouge took Siegen back?

According to the map, Baton Rouge used Ward's Creek to get to Siegen and got Siegen from Perkins to Rieger, took the shopping center with the Wal-Mart and then used all of that to jump across the interstate and grab the Advocate.

So if the homeless are panhandling at the on/off ramps, or camping under the Overpass, that's Baton Rouge.

Their FAQs about the switchover say that once you've been fully migrated to Yahoo, that even if you cancel your Cox account you get to keep your email address.

‘Lunch with the boys’ is dead. No more killing time with the boys while talking about the new hot secretary over lunch.

Social life and more importantly social skills are vanishing. No more walking down the hall or having a kitchen conversation with others to collaborate unplanned.

Work/social events. Ping pong tourneys, trivia, potlucks.

Lovebirds in the office. Most marriages used to be between people who met at work. Who doesn’t miss figuring out what trendy outfit you were going to wear on casual Friday to look cool in front of ‘ol Lacy?

It sounds like all Work from Home ruined for you is fricking off and not actually getting any work done.

BR annexed a canal to take in Siegen Village and Top Golf, etc.

And then used Siegen Village to snag The Advocate on the other side of the interstate. (And good riddance- we didn't want it anyway).

The map on the petition is final.

The map does not include the Mall of Louisiana, L'Auberge Casino and Siegen Marketplace, because those were annexed before the 2nd petition window.

The rest of them that waited until the 2nd petition effort or the passed vote and suddenly wanted out while StG was in litigation? Absolutely. But the stuff Kip got locked in during the 1st petition effort is still Baton Rouge.
quote:

Most of the areas that Baton Rouge grabbed were retail. It will be interesting if the new St. George group will try to give the Mall, casino, and Seigen Place sweetheart deals to keep them in the city.

None of that is being reversed - it was done before the vote to incorporate.

After the vote to incorporate passed, during the lawsuit window, there were additional businesses that applied to the Metro Council to annex. Any that were approved during that window will have to be walked back.
quote:

does St. George has standing to sue to restore the petition boundaries? BR gobbled up quite a few areas since the original vote.

I'm pretty sure those will be reversed, and once the new city government is up and running, those places will have to petition to leave St. George and get that approved to go back to being unincorporated, and then will have to re-petition BTR to annex them into their city.

All of that for us to obey them? That doesn't seem like a bad trade off.

They're genocidal supremicists who murder everyone who stands against them as they try to conquer the galaxy. "We don't want to kill people' is really 'We don't want to kill people, but we'll frickin do it if you make us, so if you want to live, don't make us.' I can't imagine there's a good trade off to any of that.

There is a big moral dilemma that the show is proposing, as far as Viltrumite rule. What would be the down side? I'm not sure about the conditions or what they want in return for being our rulers. But if they massively improve and advance civilization, why wouldn't we accept their rule?

Their proposal is 'recognize you can't win and surrender peacefully to enslavement, or we're perfectly happy to murder you all and strip your planet for parts, your choice'. They're not inviting Earth into an alliance. They're conquerors subjugating or extinguishing the weak, and the only reason they didn't show up blasting was they over-extended their Empire, and found it was a lot easier to send one Viltrumite to fringe worlds to soften it up to accept Viltrumite rule without a fight than to send their armies around forcibly invading everything from the get go.

Angstrom Levy's portaling around with a lot of good examples of what happens when you give in and when you don't up in that big arse head of his.

I just got the email about Ernest Saves Christmas, I imagine I'll get the others shortly. Oh well :)

The Inniswold area. February 26, last week and now. During a low power usage period without heavy demand. At this point, it just seems like most things in America are unreliable or broken.

In 2020 we had a storm break a power pole in half and throw it in the street, ripping the lines down up and down the block. When they replaced it, they didn't use the right wiring I guess, because every time we had a super windy day/storm after that, the power would go out almost immediately. We finally figured out from reviewing security camera footage that every time the wind blew super hard in a certain direction, it was batting two of the lines against each other and sending up fireballs and blowing the fuse out on the transformer.

Every two weeks for the next nine months we lost power when the wind blew hard. Every time Entergy came out to fix it we showed them the video footage and asked them to fix it permanently, and they'd shrug and just replace the fuse.

So nine months into this nonsense, the wind knocks the power out again, and they send a supervisor and a trainee out to repair it. We show them the video footage and the supervisor realizes the wrong wiring was installed when the initial repair was made, and has a team come out that day to replace it. We haven't had an issue since.

But it took NINE MONTHS of losing power for 4 hours EVERY TWO WEEKS, and showing Entergy footage of wires exploding in fireballs, before someone finally stopped saying 'frick it not my job' and actually did something. And if we didn't have that video footage I don't know that they ever would have fixed it. They would have just kept coming out and replacing the fuse over and over without questioning why it was happening.

I have pretty much zero recollection of what happened in season 2.

At the end of Season 1, the Kamino facility was destroyed and Crosshair/Clone Force 99 went their separate ways. Nala Se was kidnapped by the Empire and moved to a secret faciltiy.

Over Season 2, they start to figure out that working for Cid is not the best idea and start distancing themselves from her, hanging out more with Space Pirate Wanda Sykes. Echo leaves the batch to help Rex with missions that fight the Empire but comes back at the end to get their help with something. Crosshair gets imprisoned for turning on his team on a mission after figuring out maybe the Empire are the assholes, and he gets moved to the secret lab where Nala Se is being held. The Batch start investigating Hemlock and infilrate a summit that Saw Gerrera was planning to blow up and Tech dies helping them escape. Cid fricks them over and Omega is captured by Hemlock's people so he can use Omega as leverage to make Nala Se do his cloning experiments.
