See the world through Beard's eyes... Tonight's Ted Lasso is a wild ride and a love letter to @brendanhunting, written by co-creator @joekellyjk47 and myself. No spoilers but judging by this pic, Beard does his spider shadow puppet show. #tedlasso

Watched the episode when it dropped. Very interesting and all over the place. The random one that Beard encountered was FIRE. Jamie’s Dad and his friends can get fricked. Thought it was pretty cool of Beard to let the Pub crew into the stadium. Forgot how cute Jane is.

And so much for those shithouse theories about Beard snitching on his boy Ted for having panic attacks. Really? Beard is ride or die and y’all put that bullshite on his name? SMH.

that was quality.

it's always so jarring when you have an actor in a show with an American accent turn out to be English or Australians in real life when you hear them in interviews.

This interview is VERY similar in the way that Roy Kent is such a hard gravely talking prick but he's really just a fancy pants English theater actor/writer!

That was the first episode I’ve regretted staying up late to watch when it dropped.

His life is splashed all over the tabloids so why cant hers?
I think it’s going to be less about her and her new younger guy and more about the problems and conflicts it will cause with her being the owner and him being a player.

I wouldn’t say it felt completely out of place but it wasn’t definitely not meant to further any plot and the humor was delivered quite differently from the normal tone. I imagine they simply allowed the writers be a little more creative. We’ve gotten teased about Beard’s wild nights/life before. This was just a glimpse into one of them. Not my favorite but certainly didn’t hate it or feel like it missed what it was trying to do.

The ending to this episode is the hardest I've laughed at anything in a while. This show is so fricking good. Every new episode seems to be my new favorite episode

Board in the office at the end has them at 79 points (21 W, 6 L, 16 D)

80ish points is promotion eligibility territory.

So if I remember reading right, they originally shot 10 episodes then got a schedule for 2 more and they shot those after they did the other 10.

One of the extra episodes they shot was the Christmas episode, the other one was probably this one right?

That is what I am going with. This one didn’t advance the plot at all which makes sense if it was shot after the other 10.

Right plus hardly any of the characters were in it so that probably means they weren’t available. I even noticed at the beginning when he and Ted were talking they never showed them in the shot together. It was always one of them and the other ones blurry back. So clearly they shot their parts for that separately

Yeah, the ending of Ep 8 with Beard walking away was part of the new shoots.

This ep was golden. Love how Beard was basically an unholy amalgamation of Tyler Durden and Patrick Bateman for the pub lads and himself. Even kinda paid homage to Durden during his, "her apartment will look better than it ever did" speech in the elevator. Lots of little bits like that in the ep. Nods to Bateman like the exit door not being an exit, the dick measuring about Oxford, a limo scene, Henry constantly talking to him on tv but then him being at the club at the end, etc. Hell even poor man's Dave Bautista just wanting to give him his wallet back was a stand in for Defoe just wanting to talk to Bateman not arrest him.

Also, question for the board: Couldnt confirm it online, but was the honey and bones attendant that Beard conned the same admiral's club attendant in NYC from Get Him to the Greek?
