I will start it off with Todd Helton of the Colorado Rockies... half of the posters reading this will probably say who? .316 Batting Average and 2519 hits over 16 seasons.

DJ Lemahieu never got the recognition he deserved IMO. All he has done is get on base, play great defense, and hit .300 over the course of his career

Very good answer

He's being over shadowed by the roiders. Hell, Crime dog said, i'm not worried about the juicers, it's the guys who have to take greenies every day to play a 3 hour game.

Steve Garvey

10x All-Star
World Series Champion (went to the World Series 4X as one of the main cogs that got them there).
NL MVP
2X NLCS MVP
4X Gold Glove
2X All-Star Game MVP
Roberto Clemente Award winner
He hit .356 in 90 NLCS at-bats, .319 in 113 World Series at-bats and .393 in 28 All-Star Game at-bats. His postseason OPS was .910.
He held Major League records among first basemen for 159 consecutive errorless games in a season and 193 consecutive errorless games in a career.
He led NL first basemen in putouts six times.
NL record for consecutive games played

After Lou Gerigh but before Cal Ripen Jr.

Can't sniff the HOF.

After reading his wiki bio the SI cover should read:

Steve Garvey
Fathers A Record

Many people clown, the same people that didn't know he was one of the qb's at UT, that a freshman Peyton Manning took over the starting job from him in '94.

Well that was the scandal back then.

But that was a different time.

Nobody would be in the NBA HOF now if that was some disqualifying factor. Shite, Steve Garvey was just Don Draper and he only had one kid out of wedlock. He just liked to marry and divorce.

Put that man in the HOF. One of my favorite players of all time. Almost 500 homreuns and over 1500 RBI.

Rod Beck.

In 1993 he recorded 48 saves, including 24 consecutive. At the time, both marks were Giants franchise records.

After the 1997 season, the Giants felt Beck's best years were behind him, and allowed him to leave as a free agent to sign with the Chicago Cubs, replacing him with Robb Nen. Beck set a career high in saves in 1998, his first season with the Cubs, converting 51 of 58 chances.

In 2003, Beck returned to the Major Leagues with the Padres, filling in for the injured Trevor Hoffman. He converted 20 saves in 20 chances, while posting a 1.78 ERA. His statistics earned him the National League Comeback Player of the Year award.
