Last four non-Amazon online orders, all have come with USPS as the only shipping option. All four of them, I paid extra for 2-3 day delivery (because I needed the items quicker).

All four times, the morning that USPS tracking told me my package would arrive, I get "Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility."

The first three times, it was 8 days later, 3 days later, and 5 days later.

It's one thing for letters, junk mail, etc to be sent through the post office. But companies who sell things need to stop shipping with the post office. I'll pay extra for fedex/UPS, but many times, that's not an option on the seller's website.

Because as bad as they are, they are still cheaper and better than FedEx.
UPS is the GOAT, but not cheap

Despite Usps issues (which have gotten really bad since the pandemic), if you live in a major city, their priority mail is a good value.

USPS is cheaper, and despite the awful service last year, I did end up getting all my stuff... eventually

I’ve packages from before Christmas that were never delivered by USPS.

What I hate is when I select UPS or FedEx from a vendor and USPS is used for the last mile...I see my mail carrier 3x per week, so any time USPS is involved, I know it’ll be late.

But yeah, let’s give USPS more money to mismanage...

USPS in Atlanta is not terrible. The package getting to Atlanta is a completely different story.

They are helpful if you want to get rid of things and never see them again.

It's been about 15 years, but I regularly traded for bootleg unreleased classic rock tracks with a dude in California.

One CD with the fastest overnight shipping was $15-$20 with UPS or Fed Ex.

One CD with the fastest 2-3 day shipping with USPS was $2.50.

CD's eventually became outdated, so I can't tell you the last time I've shipped CDs or anything else, but when I did, the USPS price was unbeatable, even if it arrived on the 4th day, and not the 3rd.

I feel like this is like those “what’s the best dog breed threads”. Everyone is going to say the one they haven’t had a bad experience with is the best, but the truth is that all 3 have fricked up plenty of people’s packages before. It’s just a matter of which person you’re talking to.

because they are the only shipper that can’t rip through your package looking for contraband without cause

Have a package coming from Belgium that was supposed to arrive on March 22, that day came and they let me know it would now arrive on the 29.
That was yesterday and got an update this morning that the package is in Illinois.

The straw that broke the camel's back for me was when they lost a package shipped to me from BR. I live in Lafayette.

When people send birthday, Christmas or any other cards that *appear* to be a card of some sort, 80% or better chance it'll get stolen for the likelyhood of containing cash or a giftcard.

Sorry to all the grandmas out there sending Timmy a crisp $20 bill for his birthday. You just gave money to a poor $18 per hours USPS worker.

Best way to ship illegal substances, as the USPS has to obtain a warrant before opening your package.
