Look at the various waves of groups that came to this country after 1776
1) first Irish wave 1820s
2) second Irish wave 1850-1865
3) Chinese 1860–1880
4) Eastern Europe 1870-1900
5)Southern Europe and med
List goes in and on through today. EVERY group went through similar experiences. Killings , discrimination, worst jobs imaginable, locked out of banks/schools/political participation , etc. Every single group persevered , assimilated and ultimately became part of America. None of them cried and said “call me Irish American, Chinese American , etc”. None of them asked for anything. They worked hard as hell, sacrificed and made their own way.

Getting chased from your country by commies has that effect, like Cubans. Especially since 1975 is still fairly recent in comparison to other migrations like this.

I'd imagine that it is pretty frustrating to work your arse off to get into a top school only to be told that you are the wrong nationality or skin color.
It's amazing to me that we as a country have decided that there's nothing wrong with using blatant discrimination and racism to attempt to correct issues with past racism. We live in a clown world.

To add to the previous response Hispanics tend to be proud, hard working people. They aren't looking for a handout. I know someone that was a doctor in Cuba and when his med degree and experience didn't come with him to this country worked as a janitor and raised a teacher, a veterinarian and a business owner. RIP tio Raul.

Some people love to shite in Hispanics for whatever reason, but in all of my experiences, it is unwarranted. Generally, they are busy working and just trying to get by or make a little something of/for themselves. You can't knock that.
