Good job,Liberals. You've just about destroyed the value of public education.

Re the comment "teachers teach to the mean",another factor that will come into play is that these teachers will be under immense pressure to bring these lower achieving blacks up to the rest of the class. And the easiest way to do that is to simply "pass" those students up & on wards. There are already steps being taken to remove standard testing from high school....and some colleges....academics in some areas of the country. Big picture, who loses there? Students totally unprepared for the real world of earning a living.

In this specific situation - what should the black parents blame white people for?

No they dont. Get off your arse and study, or dont and stop whining about the hand life deals you because you fricked around when it eas time to handle your business. Whitey isnt stopping black kids from going to school. Shitty parenting in the poorer black community is. Own your fricking shortcomings. No other race makes more excuses for their frick ups than black folks do. And any black person who doesnt buy into it and actually studies, furthers their education and gets a good job is an Uncle Tom because "thats white shite."

The white black supremacist says white people are obviously breathing all the black man's air.

This was inevitable. Its the natural course of critical race theory, tear down any race that succeeds for the races that don't succeed to feel better. Nevermind that you can have both succeed.

We need to simply acknowledge the obvious: not everyone is cut out to excel in school or intellectually oriented vocations. Telling LaTraveous, Miguel and Cletus to "learn to code" or take out six figure student loans pursuing higher education is an exercise in futility.

Immigrants to this country (especially Asians) and their genetic progeny have a built in advantage - most of them had the intelligence, drive, opportunity, dedication and resources to travel half way around the world to maximize their potential.

There are a BILLION penniless, illiterate dalits in India dredging rice or digging nightsoil out of the sewer drains in a vain effort to cling to the Malthusian Middle. But we see the top .001% of that country who come here to be doctors, engineers and IT techs. And we think, "wow, those Indians are smart and hardworking...no wonder their kids dominate the SAT and spelling bees". That's like watching the NBA and thinking every black guy is a 6'10 multi-millionaire with freakish athletic ability.

If the most intelligent and ambitious Americans - the MIT graduates, the physicians at teaching hospitals, the Wall Street bankers, the computer scientists in Silicon Valley just suddenly decided to pack up and move to Australia (a hypothetical new land of milk and honey) to make a better life for themselves and their family, we would see the same effects. They would thrive. And the local yokel Auzzies and their aborigine underclass would be screaming about unfairness and whining about how American immigrants are taking all the high paying jobs and their kids are taking all of the honors class spots.

But our gifted population and high achievers stay here, for obvious reasons. For most other countries, they leave and come here.

The REAL issue and the REAL problem is that the corporate and political oligarchs in this country sold out middle class jobs and citizenship benefits to further enrich and empower themselves.

Half of my family comes from a small southern town (45% black, 45% white, 10% other). 30 years ago this town had several factories, plants and manufacturing centers that employed the majority of the residents. My uncle owned a small business that dealt with all of them and when I was a teenager, I spent a few summers working for him. These factories had those old punch time cards you stuck in the machine to time stamp when you came into work. On the timecards they had the employees name and information including his hourly pay rate. When I was bored I would look at the cards to see how much they got paid. They all made somewhere between $9.00 and $20/hr with most of them making between $12-15.

I plugged that into an inflation calculator. That's between $50,000 and $75,000 a year in 2020 dollars depending on overtime, etc. And they all got family health insurance and other benefits. And a lot of these workers never graduated high school and almost none of them attended college.

As long as you were not a complete screw-up, the American Dream of a 3/2 house, 2 kids playing youth sports, a pet dog and a minivan was presented to you on a platter.

Then NAFTA and other Globalist trade agreements hit and the plutocrats spent the ensuing decades going for the jugular. These jobs are now mostly gone - mostly outsourced overseas where they don't have to worry about fair wages or worker safety and environmental standards. The economic shell that remains is a race to the bottom with permanently frozen wages and a few cubicle slaves fighting over ways to futher the slaughter like a bucket of crabs. Or vultures operating Title Loan and Cash for Gold shops to pick what's left off the carcass of a once quaint town.

Then along came Trump and he had the audacity to pay lip service to this problem and they came down on him with both feet. If the relentless propaganda, political interference, impeachment shams and rigged election didn't do the trick, they would have probably just assassinated him.

You want to fix this country? Go back to economic policies that put populist American interests first. Black, white, yellow, brown or red. I don't care. None of them are going to make it in a globalist winner-take-all system.

Maybe they should focus on those "some" instead of calling all white people racists and accusing institutions and governments of stacking the deck against them.

Gotta be careful here. When kids don't succeed academically, it's not always because they're lazy or don't work hard. Sometimes they work hard to learn, but they just can't cut it.

A parent who sees their kid struggle with math problems every night will probably get pissed at the parent who says "well, your kid just isn't working hard enough."

The reasons why don’t matter. When it comes to merit based admission, either the Academic Achievement is there or not. If a child struggles with learning and meeting criteria before entering an advanced school or program, they will also struggle, likely more, in a more advanced environment.

Look, not everyone can play pro sports, invent groundbreaking new technology or succeed in advanced academics. That’s ok. Parents should focus on encouraging their children to continue learning and exploring new things to find their own special talents. Restricting success for one will not guarantee success for another.
