I guess I’m in the minority seeing him as a great addition. He will be good for Hayes and we desperately need defense and also add a great pick and roll player and offensive rebounding about to ramp up. We were soft last year. Adams is stout.

No doubt about it that we lost the trade value wise. Not surprising considering it’s Presti. He had two centers taking up over half his cap and still managed to squeeze a first out of us for taking one of the negative contracts off his hands.

Most Bucks fans thought we could squeeze an asset out of teams for Hill before Bledsoe. Guess Griff paid a premium to have a personal bully for his Superstar.

Just call it the Asik tax....

Giving up a 24 pick from the nugs for an expiring Adams is a no brainer, really can’t even argue this. If you want to bring the conversation about George hill sure, but we didn’t need him on this team and obviously there wasn’t that much being offered for him.

I don't see how this is a horrible deal at all.

We are giving up a heavily protected 1st, 2 seconds, a guy who hasn't played for us in 2 years and a 34.5 year old guard for a dominant defensive C who is a monster on the boards.

Said dominant defensive C also opens up a ton of cap space after this season when we are probably looking to be bigger players in a better FA market.

I think the complaint is George Hill has more value than Adams. So sending picks on top of Hill isn't a good deal.

George Hill is an oft injured, 34yr old back up guard.

what do you think you are missing out on in terms of play and value

The 2 man lineup of Favors/Zion had an ORtg of 112. The offense will be fine with Adams.

We sent one pick we had previously possessed and the other 2nd is far out. This isn’t bad

George hill was never coming here. The trade wasn’t even finalized.

Yeah of all things to worry about, picks shouldn’t be one of them right now

It's a "horrible" deal because Presti just made Griff bend over and give him picks to take Hill, a positive asset with multiple teams making inquiries that Presti will be flipping for picks before the deadline. I like what Adams brings, and 2nd rounders aren't going to be the difference between winning a championship or not, but I would say we paid a premium to make this part of the Jrue trade happen.

maybe on 2K21, but in the real world, we were very G heavy, needed a starting C, as well as a more physical defensive presence..... Adams is the BEST option for the latter, so it makes ALL the sense to trade the former...

and the picks are not going to end up being high picks anyway.... and sure you could say, well, you could package 2 1st rounders to move up into the top 5 or whatever, but that STILL doesn't get you a proven commodity like Adams... and at some point, we need a team with at least SOME veteran presence, not just a bunch of guys under 23 w/ athleticism and some talent...

Exactly, we never had George Hill
Mac-
Easiest to think of the trade (from Pels perspective) as:

Jrue, Darius Miller, #42, 2024 Washington 2nd

for

Bledsoe, Adams, Milwaukee 2025 and 2027 firsts, and swap rights with Milwaukee in 24 and 26

Yeah I'm not really liking this deal for the Pels. I just hope Griff saying like he hopes Adams is here for the longhaul is GM leverage speak because that dramatically reduces this team's ceiling.

Look, Adams is going to bring a lot to the table. Yes, he's a great locker room guy, great in PNR, setting screens, improving interior D, and OREBs, but that's not a $20M player in this league. It's ok as an expiring, but he's not going to be much cheaper if we resign him this summer.

There's no team remotely close to winning a title with a center of Adams brand getting paid in his projected range. The closest is Jokic but he's the literal engine of that team and not really comparable.

A lot of these bonuses that Adams brings to the team is more efficiently achieved by bargain vet centers on a fraction of the cost. Adams makes this team better, but he greatly lowers this team's ceiling if he's here for several years.

With all that being said, him staying here could be Griffin speak and the next play is to ship his expiring off to match salaries with several picks for Bradley Beal when he remembers how annoying it is to play with John Wall.

I guess we still don't know the full details of the protections, but isn't there a significant chance that the denver 1st we're sending out eventually becomes 2 seconds in 2027?

other than the ability to possibly trade him later for an expiring contract, nothing really... in terms of the 2 guys we got in the Jrue deal w/ the Bucks, we are keeping the better player, while using the worse player and a shitty, heavily protected 1st rounder to get the best defensive C in the NBA... how people are shitting on this trade is unbelievable to me...

As I said earlier, be prepared for Ball to shoot 10 3’s a game with a starting lineup of Ball, Bledsoe, BI, Zion, and Steven Adams. If Ball is the guy they expect to be the floor spacer, he’s going to be living his best life!
