Simple question: if the road to a Pels title over the next 5 years means going through AD, Jokic, Nurkic, and Gobert, who would you prefer matching up on them in crunch time: Adams or Woods?
Eventually Zion MAY be capable, but he's at least 2 years away. Of reasonably "gettable" players that I'd want to defend those opposing bigs and setting screens for Bledsoe/Lonzo/Zion, I think that Adams was a pretty good choice.

I need as much Wood in my life as I can possibly get.

I mean all of this comes back to my singular point that threw some people off the deep end and me spending more time correcting shite than getting to actually speak.
Which was, in an alternate universe we had the opportunity to keep our assets, keep a guy that projects well with our guys, and have enough money left over to get a defensive anchor like Favors/Baynes. An opportunity cut off because we made the wrong choice in priorities last season. Which it is what it is but you know, certain people can’t seem to allow a difference of opinion stand.
Ideally, by the time we get into our championship window in 3 to 4 years, we would have high quality assets like Wood and others that maybe you move for a true ideal 5 next to Zion, or maybe Woods at 27, when several of those guys you list will be over thirty, is a more ideal model in a league trending his way.
And a guy like Adams, who to be clear I think is borderline top ten at his position, but will be in his early 30’s when we likely get to that contender point. And will increasingly be in a league moving away from his type of play. And to me, by that point, projects to be more of a 18-22 min role player by then and will either be expensive as heck to keep around if he overperforms this season and we want to keep him off a contender, or won’t be materially different than guys we can pick up in FA. Since traditional defensive centers are not exactly a rare commodity any more. And heck, he may not even be in our plans at all if Hayes develops, or, as I suspect, we need to bring in a rim protecting stretch 5 if Zion can’t develop an outside game and we start hitting walls in the playoffs due to a lack of floor balance.

Why do all of your posts read like novels?
It’s exhausting

Stronger than cancer? There's been a 12 hour discussion on Christian woods who hasn't proved shite besides one decent half of a season on a shitty pistons team... should I mention all the people wanting to pay Baynes. Hes hot garbage also

Crazy what happens when you make one or two posts not in praise of Daddy Griffin for everything he does... his children throw tantrums that don’t ever end. Then get mad again when you don’t just let them whine at you.
People gonna ask or talk I’ll respond back. It’s not like theres much effort going on their end, it’s pretty quick work when there’s been like 30 angry retorts and not one of them has really had anything interesting put forward.

TD Store going to sell items based on this thread. I'd buy a shirt that says I posted in the Pels Talk Steven Adams/Christian Wood thread

When are the pels gonna retire Christian Wood's number?

People get caught in potential or name recognition way to often. I'll take a guy that I know what he's going to give me night in and night out over potential any day of the week

With all of the shite that this forum has given Gentry, Demps, Monty, Bower, and Byron Scott: do you think that it's unreasonable that people here might actually like Griffin's moves? Despite the media and this forum loving the hire, I was pretty indifferent on picking up Griffin. But I think he's done a phenomenal job turning the team around and setting them up for the future. Some of that is certainly luck (Zion), but I'm not going to fault the guy for winning lotteries.
