Ended up doing the Monday workout today. Got a few things tomorrow that would have made it hard to get to gym for more than about 30 minutes

Got 12 sets on squat versus 10 last time. Weight moved pretty well too. Shoulders were a little sore from 10x10 bench and KB swings so bench wasn’t as smooth. But overall not bad workout

ETA: 9 rounds on the cardio

My wife had it a few days back. Thought I had escaped it. Finally able to eat a little and I think I’m done living on the toilet. So trying to get rehydrated. The body aches have been terrible. May end up a day behind on week 4.

I'm ready to finish up strong this week. I'm still holding out hope for a stairway to strongville day.

I won't lie. I felt strong at the end of Squatober last year. This year, I'm beat up and just trying to survive the last week.

Boom got 14 sets at 295lbs (12@290 last time)

//edit and since we were swapping weights (my sons bench/OHP is a lot lower than mine) we ended up doing sets of 10 instead of 5 on shoulder press because we were spending more time swapping weights than pressing. We got 2 sets of 5 and 5 sets of 10 but we were closer to 9 mins I think by the time we were done.

Went from 11 sets on day 8 to 13 sets today. Very pleased with that since my goal was to just hit 12.

Did 10 sets on the cardio.

I think this was a perfect session for a Monday morning, was done in 47 minutes, but definitely felt the work.

This is my third Squatober and I feel like the programming this year is by far my favorite.

Day 22 down!

Today felt great! The more sets I hit the better everything started to feel. I had a good sweat going during the 10 minutes of squat, but no REAL burn. The burn came during the OHP sets.

On Day 8 I hit 12 sets at 85%, and today I pushed it to 16! I used the upper end of the suggested ranges for bench and OHP. Bench felt great and the bar moved at a good speed. I did feel the rests were a little too long, but I honored them as written. I hit 11 sets on OHP. The first 5 were smooth and easy. Form stayed good until sets 10 and 11. Those were burning pretty bad and while form never went into the bad range, it definitely wasn't as good as the first sets.

I did 13 today and 12 last time. Did 9 sets on cardio. The sweat was real today in the garage, but it’s also just too friggin hot for late October

Tuesday tuneup doesn't look too bad. Which is good because I'm sore today. I assume he's going to bust out the big guns on Wednesday.

14 sets today. 12 sets last time. I was shooting for just 13 but I had 25 seconds left when I racked 13 and I just banged out one more.

I only got 6 on the cardio. I was pooped.

Beyond the raw rep gains, I would also say that my squats are getting deeper and more controlled. Practice makes perfect I guess.

I got 11 today 1 more than last time. 10lbs heavier also since I upped my TM. Probably could have gotten 1 or 2 more but wasn’t feeling it today.

10 on the cardio. Seemed easy until the last two minutes, the burn got real

I occasionally see people using a plate under their heel or wedges under their feet when doing squats. I tried searching some online and seem to get conflicting information about who should do this and when. Some of the articles I've read say raising the heel helps the lower back, but tends to hurt knees. Also it helps people with mobility issues in the ankles, but doesn't resolve the root issue.

What's the general thoughts here on using something to raise your heels while squatting?

if you lack ankle mobility do it or slant boards. thats the main reason to do it.

Knocked out Tuesday Tuneup just now. Didn’t have a huge amount of time so we did 3 sets of 5 on squats and supersetted the curls and shrugs. 50 mins including warmup. Good shite
