I wear a mask to screen the floating particulate matter of others’ stank breff! So far so good!

The logic behind masks is to attempt to prevent Covid spread which is why some people want others to wear them.

This logic was only somewhat applicable when we were trying to flatten the curve. We're well beyond that point, so that "logic" no longer applies.

I'm not aware of similarly altruistic reasons for not wearing masks.

Altruism has nothing to do with logic.

At the grocery store yesterday a lady was holding a mask in her hand, another lady proceeded to tell her that the mask does no good in your hand, she then told her she was a nurse and this thing is bad, They just cleared out the ICU at her hospital. ( I guess the curve is flattened)
No pics, the nurse had an attractive body but I couldn’t see her face because of the damn mask.

Care to explain how those two things are harmful? I don’t totally agree with both things but I am curious what type of harm you are talking about?

Keeping everyone isolated in their homes, and avoiding contact is slowing the time it takes to develop herd immunity which is our only real defense against the virus. A vaccine could be years away if ever, and until it is actually deployed its effectiveness is unknown. Given all the different avenues by which a virus can be contracted, and that most people have no clue as to the proper use of PPE and avoiding cross contamination, mask wearing is just a feel good gesture that accomplished little.

“There is no specific evidence to suggest that the wearing of masks by the mass population has any potential benefit. In fact, there's some evidence to suggest the opposite in the misuse of wearing a mask properly or fitting it properly," WHO executive director of health emergencies Mike Ryan said Monday.”

Don't bother explaining to the simpletons that covid has been around before, yet we never implemented this with it, SARS, or other infectious diseases.

For what it is worth this was said well before amount of asymptomatic people were know. He was talking people wearing masks with the hope of not getting exposed as opposed to wearing a mask to stop asymptomatic spread.

How does totalitarianism begin?

Its like like that disgusting bubblegum wall in Seattle. It all started with just one piece of chewing gum someone stuck on a wall - arguably illegal destruction of property. Others followed because it seemed cool. Time passed. It then became acceptable. Now it’s a tourist attraction. If someone tried to clean it up, they would no doubt be arrested .... for destruction of property.

Early on, before we knew much about it... would seem reasonable to wear one(I didn't).
At this point, unless your old and/or sick, wearing mask is ridiculously overkill. No pun intended..

Masks can be an issue if you're claustrophobic, have skin issues, etc.

And I'm assuming you're just being a willful idiot on the second part.

Actually, it's the staying at home part that has been considered the bigger problem. Old people stayed home, but continued having contact with their younger relatives. In many cases they lived with them. The younger people, many who continued working in necessary jobs, brought home the virus and delivered it to the vulnerable people they lived with.

In poor communities, the young people continued going out, because apartments were cramped. And many of them live with their grandparents.

The flu isn’t asymptomatic in many patients. It’s spread via droplets not aerosols. Big difference.
