NOLA picking up tents and tarps on Napoleon if unattended. They said a second crew is coming about 2 hours after them. No argument leaving stuff alone if someone claims it as they pass.

Lord this city is freaking nuts.
You have mostly families that live up and down the route that set up spots for their kids.
This is one of the few times a year wherein Living in the city is beneficial.
The other 50.5 weeks it is a terrible place to live: crime ridden, highly taxed, corrupt, has a crumbling infrastructure. Yet in their infinite wisdom, the city shits on the only people left that actually fund the place.
Then again the flip side to the shitting on by the city towards these people is that these people continue to live in such a place despite the the constant shitting on and problems listed above.

I'm going to pay a bunch of bums to go up and down Orleans near City Park and just spray paint random squares, symbols, and names all over the damn place.

I don't understand what you're getting at.

LEAVE THE PEOPLE ALONE AND LET THEM PUT THEIR LADDERS UP ON THE PARADE ROUTE
STOP BEING DICKS TO FAMILIES THAT FUND THE SHITHOLE.

Second crew coming at 10 on Napoleon per my source
Also supposedly the last one for the day.

Awesome!!
Why would you celebrate this waste of time and resources?
The newest rules still allow for saving spots 4 hours before hand, sop the lazy people are still gonna be pissing and moaning that they can't walk up as the parade starts and be in front.
This is such a silly exercise.

So you are a fan of the folks who rope off a 50 foot section on the Avenue and put a tarp, tent, and 20 ladders across the front a week before the parades start and never keep anyone there to "save" the spot?

It doesn't happen like this at all, but your concern is noted.

Because there are no more statues to take down and need a diversion from the Hard Rock stories

Don't leave your stuff unattended 8 or more hours before the parade. This isn't really asking much of people.
Posted on 2/19/20 at 9:33 am to nolatiger711
Why don't they do this for bum encampments?

That would require consistent logic from the people in charge.
Posted on 2/19/20 at 9:34 am to nolatiger711
Do they do this to all of the tent cities under the Ponchatrain Expressway?

Correct. A lot of people will make cute comments on this thread but you are entirely correct.
Nothing but families gathered having a great time in the city.
No one is hurt. No one is bothered. Everyone has an equal opportunity to garner a spot if the choose to.
It makes no sense for the city to devote resources to this complete non problem.
I will say that no one can own public land and it's ridiculous for people to attempt to keep anyone else from standing where they want to to watch a parade.
But I've been going to the parades on St Charles for decades and everything out there runs damn near perfect.
The city is serving no one's interest with this action.
