Not sure. Napoleon and Camp most likely.

So if you have stuff out more than 4 hours prior to a parade and it’s unattended, it’s subject to removal? I don’t see an issue with that.

Correct

There was all sorts of empty front row space at 6am both on Napoleon and St Charles. I think many were expecting this.

Im pretty sure they are and most of the stuff the are picking up are on the sidewalk side and between the street and the street car tracks

I cant imagine anyone is dumb enough to leave their shite between the 2 tracks

Right, but a couple of those pics showed people sitting in chairs about a foot from the tracks, which sure seems like is asking for trouble, lol. My drunk self is liable to fall backwards out of my chair.

I dont either...however, as I stated....we leave our shite out on Napoleon after the Saturday parades, but it's mostly just chairs, tarps, tents and tables. No ladders..and we dont "claim" a spot...we keep everything in a pile tied together towards the middle of the neutral ground away from the street and have have someone out there at daybreak to start setting up...we've never had an issue

Thats only for the Saturday before Bacchus that we leave stuff out over night, and Sunday night. We go back Monday morning and pick our shite up

Again, seems perfectly reasonable. So I'm not sure what 8 pages of bitching is about.

Last year my buddy and I, with our wives, walked up for Endymion behind a group, behind all their kids, parents and ladders, but still in their area that they had laid a bunch of plywood down for across most of the neutral ground. And we're standing watching the parade, and they sent over an old prick "Y'all need to keep it moving, this is our spot". I laughed "ain't happening boss, you don't own this neutral ground." The rest of the parade we got dirty looks from the women in the group, were called "assholes" "bitches" etc

Those people are the worst.

Saturday I went out to uptown for about an hour just to catch some people I knew in one of the parades. I needed to cross St. Charles and there was water all over the place except for at the cross street. I walk up and stand there for a minute waiting for a marching group to pass. Lady next to me appears aggravated and asked why everyone needed to cross right here where she was set up.

I pointed out that there was standing water in both directions and she was standing in a dry place, so she needed to get over it.

I’m not reading through 8 pages, but I think the issue is that the city has about 5000 problems that are more important than some tables and chairs stacked up on a parade route.

Good thing about employing so many people is that the city can multitask.

The dumbasses were slowing down public transit which should be corrected.

Well I sure as hell don't agree with that.

But the argument of "they shouldn't be legally enforcing the rules because they should prioritize other rules" isn't exactly a strong one.

By his stance they should shut down Mardi Gras until the sewer inspections are complete.

Why the East is still a public works and blight mess?

Agreed. I was speaking more for the small, neatly packed stuff that wasn’t impacting transit. Don’t take my post for saying that rules shouldn’t be enforced, though.

Not at all what I was saying. I was actually assuming what people would be griping about for 8 pages. Not that it was my opinion.

Mardi Gras is about the only thing this city handles correctly.

Had a lady tell me I needed to move away from a barricade at Julia and St. Charles because it was "her spot" and I was in her way. I laughed. She called over a NOPD Sergeant and said "He is in my spot" and he immediately stopped her and said "Lady you are in the middle of a public street in New Orleans Louisiana and that isn't your spot" and walked away. I stood right behind her and yelled as loud as humanly possible when the first float arrived. She called the NOPD back over. "He is being too loud..." and he immediately stops her "lady, it's Mardi Gras and there is no such thing as too loud." She huffed and grabbed her shite and left. I put the kids up to the barricade and high fived the NOPD Sgt. He laughed and said that the lady is there every parade and is a constant problem.

Bruh, sorry the city threw away your fold up chair from Academy. But just buy another one, they aren't that expensive. Try not to leave it outside unattended this time - that's littering. And littering is trashy.

So what are these public works crews doing the other 49 weeks of the year?

Preparing for Mardi Gras?

Or fixing a 200-300 year old system that has been neglected.

Not sure about Public Works but Parks and Parkways are the ones picking up the trash...and during the other 49 weeks of the year they are

Didn't realize the Parks and Rec department managed the neutral grounds. In most municipalities, they are the "best" run department.
