Probably just defrosting a NY Strip and making Allison Roman’s anchovy tomato bucatini.

The caviar is 30% off at Whole Foods, but there’s a chance I’ll be solo so I’m just going to get a pack of smoked salmon and have that on crostini with red onion, creme fraiche, and capers.

What y’all got going?

Grilling steaks, sautéing some mushrooms and having potatoes cubed and roasted with olive oil, fresh herbs and bacon.

Washing down with some red wine for me and Chardonnay for the little lady.

Grilling burgers. Drinking beer.

Will be watching the LSU baseball game, so no time for more involved cooking.

Friend,

I will be taking Mother to Antoine’s, her favorite restaurant, tonight. Perhaps I will see you there.

Copied from the earlier thread. Excuse the pretentious/douchiness of the list. I try to one up it each year and this time my wife suggested an actual menu so I may print this out for her.

quote:

Soup
Champagne brie
Bruno Paillard NV Premiére Cuvée

First course
Seared sous vide scallops over lobster risotto
2018 Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne, Les Sétilles

Second course
Steak au poivre, garlic mashed potatoes, blanched asparagus
2014 Heitz Cellar Linda Falls Cabernet Sauvignon

Dessert
Creme brulee
Taylor Fladgate 30 Yr Tawny

Nothing, going to a parade tonight. We did boiled crawfish and shrimp last night though, with some macaroons and a small cake for desert.

Not cooking this year. Local brewery is having a beer/cider pairing dinner. We're friends with the brewmaster so signed up for that to support the business, plus the chef making the food tonight is damn good.
