Where would you rank Devin White amongst all LSU linebackers?

Considering every linebacker who has played at LSU, where does he rank? My memory only goes back to ‘95, so I can’t accurately say if DW40 is the GOAT. I never saw any of those baws from the 50’s-80’s. What says the rant?

There are only a handful that I’d consider as good or better. Mike Anderson and Mike Brooks are two. I still consider Mike Brooks to be the GOAT. Anderson was a little before my time, so I don’t know; plus such a different era.

Brain lapse: I think Kwon is my second choice behind Brooks.

He's ranked 1st. Devin is the only Butkus award winner in LSU's history. I like Michael Brooks also and Bradie James is my personal favorite LB of all time.

That is the argument I would make for putting him #1.

IMO he is the best to play at LSU. I don't see how he could be outside of anybody's top 3.

#1. Not just his play, but everything he's done. He was a leader and role model for both the team and the community.

We’ve had some awesome linebackers, back (in my memory) to George Bevan and Mike Anderson. Albert Richardson that I went to HS with (still the all-time tackles leader), Bradie James, Kevin Minter, Beckwith, DW. And we will have more to come as long as Aranda is here.

Bradie James is #1 in my book and DW #2. It's tough to overlook James' pro career which was long and successful. I expect White to pass up James on my list in a few years.

This is a great topic.
In my opinion he’s the best I’ve ever seen here. Bradie James, Trev Faulk, Kevin Minter were all very effective linebackers but weren’t the athlete that White is. Beckwith was a physical a linebacker as we’ve had but, as good as he was, didn’t stack up to these guys. I also never saw Mike Anderson so can’t comment on him.
My list:
White
James
Minter
Faulk

Agree Devin the best and all the names listed as “honorable mentions”. Only one I would add is Warren Capone, an All American from the early 1970s teams.
