1985 was first year of Butkus and Bosworth won it.......Bosworth was a stud but hyped to no end.

It’s Brooks and DW a very close second. But putting DW #1 isn’t off base at all.

The best in my lifetime. I’ve watched LSU since the mid 80’s. Just some of my other personal favorites, James, Beckwith, Highsmith, Vaughn, Turner, Alexander

The first great linebacker I remember (I'm 32) was bradie games from wossman or wossmon, don't remember another great player from that school.

Anyway I got Devin 1st and James second, then ,based on athleticism, it's kwon or Trev faulk. Then it's minter and beckwith. Kwon would have been even better in the early 2000s when speed at linebacker wasn't what it is today.. There were exceptions, but for the most part there are more smaller faster linebackers now, then the thumper types like james back in his day.

You can make arguments for Brooks, Brady James etc....

But Devin is the best. I don’t even think it’s close.

Just my opinion, but Bradie James is #1 all-time for me. Devin White is a really, really, really close second.

Moved to West Monroe as an underclassman and played most of his actual high school ball there. I don't think he ever played any varsity ball for Wossman, but I could be mistaken. He definitely graduated at West Monroe under Don Shows, though.

Albert Richardson. Early 80’s. Hard to beat.
And Michael Brooks...

Do you think he'll come back for one more year?

That's valid. Brooks is up there; but Butkus aside, White has more SEC and AA honors.
