Agree it’s a different era. But if our NIL budget is in the lower half of the SEC, no coach will be able to fix it.
Reed may not have been a top 2 player, but he was our best low post player by far. He wasn’t starting early in the season to let him gradually get back after a serious injury. He would have started as the year progressed.
I’m old enough to remember before extremely hostile social media clicks were prevalent when our basketball program was in a very similar plight. In the early 70s, Dale Brown took over our basketball program that was dead after the Maravich years, and had to be completely rebuilt. Daddy Dale was considered failing at his job by many after his 1st 4 years of losing and was an SEC bottom dweller. Sound familiar? But the recruiting of Rudy Macklin and solid support players around him created the beginning a new exciting era of LSU basketball. He had his first winning season in his 5th year that then manifested into LSU basketball glory years including 2 Final Fours in 1982 and 1986.

Coach McM deserves a similar 5th year opportunity.

No other college has 2 alums representing USA other than our LSU Tigers. Skenes dealing tonight with 0 runs, 1hit and 7 Ks in his 4 innings of work. Bregman looking good at 3B
I’m old enough to remember our 1980-1982 run under Dale Brown. Those ere teams of real characters and intense competitors…Ethan Martin at the point, Rudy Macklin at PF, Dwayne “ Astronaut” Scales at SF, Greg “Cookieman” Cook at C, Howard “High C” Carter at SG, Willie “Jet” Sims ar the best 6th Man in the SEC, Al Green, Jordy “Lefty” Hultberg and Johnny “the Bullet” Jones off the bench. It’s an era when a packed and loud Deaf Dome emerged. Students would camp out in line all around the PMAC to assure they got one of the limited student seats

The Boutte one handed TD catch over Stingley was the absolute best LSU Tiger Alum tandem of the weekend.
In an employment model, college football should model itself like the NFL also as it pertains to contracts. HS recruits with min contract length of 3 years with 1-2 year options to renew annually…very similar to NFL rookie contracts. This allows coaching staffs to invest in player development versus it being an annual free agent shite show that it’s become. Brings back some sanity to transfer portal. Set up for players the option to enter after 3 years one time after RS sophomores with 2 more years of eligibility.

Hiring process of next HC

Thought this link listening to Andrew Whitworth was thought provoking. He suggests a subcommittee of a handful of LSU diehard, well respected Ex-NFL players should interview and provide feedback in the hiring process.

Seriously, why do we even run an RPO when 1 of the 3 options ain’t going to happen…Nuss ain’t running. It’s a terrible scheme because it doesn’t fit this team’s strengths.
In 2019 last time we played Vandy at home, they sold out of beer by half time. They clearly were not prepared for the thirsty nature of LSU Tiger fans.

The devil is always in the details. And your detailed analysis creates the clarity that leads me to be more optimistic about our running game. The Ole Miss game with be a “truth teller” about our running game effectiveness.
It makes me just wonder, are the coaches hiding “arm fatigue” injury? His lack of usual zip on his sideline throws and propensity to not throw to the long vertical routes. I’m scratching my head on this.
I agree with your perspective. However, what Coach Kelly has a right to be PO’d about is that it was the lead question after a big win. It’s a very valid question, but could have waited until he first addressed positive questions after a huge win about our D and special teams play that won’t the game for us.
The level of aggressiveness and speed reminded me of 2003 NC team. That team averaged about giving up only 260 yards per game

Anyone share what’s up with Aaron Nola this ML season. Not pitched since beginning of the year.
Another good hotel choice if you want a smaller boutique feel is The Bobbie Hotel. Has a rocking roof top pool & bar with a huge grey hound bus parked on the roof for shade.

Pretty objective assessment from an Aggie Analyst about our LSU football team this season. Playoffs or bust.
If baseball players were a stock, DC would be a strong BUY. As good as he showed out in Frosh year, his upside is huge to further from into his 6’2” frame with 10-15 lbs of muscle and add to his power stats.
We are living our best days if one considers overall success across all sports programs at LSU. Scott Woodward
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing. He was a beast at the plate.
