White has cemented his legacy along with the other 2 legendary lbs. Brooks, James, and White are in a class of their own IMO( which IMO is all that matters).
Brooks- ranks 5thall-time among LSU players in career tackles for a loss, and 1st among linebackers. He ranks 2nd all-time among LSU linebackers in career sacks.
James- made an all sec all 4 years
White- only butkus award winner

And he really didn’t play that long. I’ll never forget a play he made defending the triple option...he came storming at the QB who faked to the fullback and right before Brooks was about to put him in the hospital..he pitches it...and Brooks changes direction in an instant and brings the RB down for no gain. And Brooks was a pretty big LBer..especially for the mid 80’s

He is one of the best to play at LSU. Michael Brooks and Eric Hill also fit this description.

It would be hard to rank anybody above Michael Brooks, but Devin White is real close.

I have him and Brady James as the best I've seen at lsu

Still so awesome to think that Chief and Les wasted a year of Beckwiths eligibility sitting him behind Welter

Michael Brooks was a MAN. Speed, agility, and strength. Too bad he was injured and missed part of his career.

White 1A, Michael Brooks 1B. Y'all who weren't around in the 80's just would not know. Brooks was that good. White slight nod above him.

Brooks should have won it '85 and '86.

Three Bayou Bengals in Casanova, Harris and Charles Alexander all ended up Cincy Bengals in 70's and 80's.

Didnt get to the championship so no way he can be #1.

I don't know the best ever, I liked everything about Devin White, but I sure hope that whoever replaces him this year is the greatest.

Butkus award winner and go that high in the draft. Keeping defense together with loss of Chaisson early. Taking time deciding to stay or go pro, because he bleeds purple and gold. Is allowed to ride his horse in Tiger stadium.
I would say good argument for #1

are we going to pretend that the guys that played 20 and 30 years ago could run a 4.42 40 yard dash? Devin is tGoat

So 30 years from now Devin White won’t be in the conversation because linebackers will be running 4.3 40s?
Look..I’m not sure how fast Brooks ran the 40..but he was extremely quick weighing 235.
Lawrence Taylor played 30 + years ago and is still the GOAT.
Let’s not get caught up in when a player played...cause trust me..you’re gonna be much older one day..and you’re not gonna want some college kid telling you Devin White is irrelevant.
