Couv, as a mother of 3 myself please know that your family is in my prayers. Mine are older as in last one in college but I still worry to a certain extent.

God bless you and yours and may He bring you strength, peace and clarity for handling what comes your way.

Best Wishes to you and your family. Be a good dad and you’ll be blessed more than you’ll ever realize. My mom used to always tell me that the good Lord will never give you more than you can handle. Praying for you, baw.

I don't have much to offer, other than thoughts and hoping the best for you.
But, I am donating blood in a few weeks, for one of the reasons to help those that need blood in situations like you are in.

It takes a team effort. Make sure you’re both present and don’t baby her. Treat her like any other kid and make sure she’s as independent as possible. It will be tempting to help her when she’s frustrated, but she more than most other kids, will have to learn self determination and self reliance.

Find programs that might support you at various stages in her life and start applying because many have long waiting times.

Special needs is one area where I think the government should actually give money to because many ot them cannot take care of themselves, as opposed to people who are perfectly fine but made bad decisions.

Make sure she feels like a normal kid, enroll her in normal kid activities. Don’t assume her limitations, let her find them and help her find her boundaries without knowledge of what you’re doing. She has to believe in herself.

Been teaching middle school for almost 20 years and have had 3 kids with DS come through my class. Ill never forget them. Always happy no matter what is going on around them. The other kids always looked after them and took care of them. They were like Rockstars at our school.
Congratulations on your gift!

I know it's petty compared to some, but giving blood for me is not easy. My claustrophobia kicks in and I nearly pass out every time I donate.

Does fanatic still post at all around here? She has a SN daughter and likely has a ton of advice about how to raise one.

Yep, I'm still here! Amy is living the life she has always dreamed about. She is in her own apartment, has a very active social life (Covid has slowed that down to only family activites), has a boyfriend, loves Coach O and the Tigers and very active in our church!
Praying for your daughter.

Everyone point, clap, yell, scream, praise! Attributing everything to just a really bad virus. Drs just told us white blood cell count is trending up. Red is still normal. Platelets remained the same but takes time to recover from viruses like this. Taking her off fluids. If she eats normal the rest of the day, they will discharge tonight!!!

Thanks so much for thoughts and prayers!

Fanatic would you mind if I reached personally off of here?
