My mom's beef stew with carrots, potatoes, and onions over rice. She also made cornbread that she mixed cream style corn into. I could make a meal off just that cornbread.

Not typical "comfort food", but a good pizza puts me on cloud 9, no matter my mood.

Well there's a lot of foods I find comforting, like pizza and cheeseburgers, that wouldn't fit my idea of "comfort food".

My absolute favorite home cooked comfort food type of meal is Thanksgiving food - the sides. Cornbread dressing with brown gravy, green bean casserole, broccoli and cheese, cranberry sauce. It is so good that I can't believe we only eat that stuff once a year.

My other favorite is beef roast, rice and gravy, green beans cooked with lots of bacon, and a buttery dinner roll. Mustard greens done right with a slice of cornbread in them soaking up the juices is pretty amazing too.

Oh man, I'll agree with calves liver and caramelized onion with bacon crumbles, mashed potatoes and corn, however...

My current favorite comfort food is smothered chicken in onion gravy with a nice toasted roll to sop things up.
