“I was talking to about the Celtics the other day and they said the worst thing that happened to the Celtics was their success last season. Because now you’ve got Tatum, [Jaylen] Brown, [Terry] Rozier — these young guys are thinking dude, we went to Game 7 of the East Finals without you, Kyrie, without you, Hayward. We’re this level of player … This summer, they could be gone. They might up end in New Orleans [for Davis]. It’s gossip, but the gossip is Jayson Tatum wouldn’t mind if he’s shipped to New Orleans and has a chance to be the face of the franchise somewhere. Because he’s not going to get that opportunity in Boston, at least not in the immediate future.”

He looked like an Alpha in the playoffs last season.

At this point I’ll be happy if a young player willingly wants to come here.

Everyone remember that this IS Windhorst, who outside of being Lebron's mouthpiece is fairly useless

Well, there goes our leverage...I guess we will have to throw in a first with AD to get Tatum now.

He may be, but the fact that the narrative is out there is interesting to say the least.

Goes to show that the deal is probably already in place and they are just making peace with it on all sides

count me in the camp (selfishly) of taking the celtics offer if it includes tatum no matter what the knicks pick winds up being, even zion

that team would be PUTRID...for a couple of years

holiday
jackson
kenrich
moore
hill
knox
zion
draft pick
draft pick
FA...ad nauseum

the only way that works is if they also trade holiday, and that adds another year or two to the re-build. it may have the highest ceiling, but i'm not paying to sit thru that again.

Yeah but the hype surrounding Zion will dwarf that of AD.

It would be a big deal.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I want the Knicks deal despite the higher ceiling. It's extremely much lower floor. It may even be the "smarter" play long term.

I also concern myself with the team (thinking of ticket sales again) will rush a build around Zion and it will be the same overall outcome as AD especially if Zion finds himself a Rich Paul client.

I think the Celtics deal is good both now and for the future. I also think it becomes the type of team this city will seriously appreciate and would be a consistent playoff presence which I think would be more than OK with the majority of the fan base.

The hype on AD was unreal despite him coming in looking like an all defense no offense big man.

I’m not sure how the hype on Zion could blow that away.

I don't think that team is putrid. I think you are underestimating Zion's impact and seemingly bad players can take big jumps from year 1 to year 2, See Fox.

You are also leaving out DSJ and Mitchell Robinson. But I could see them trading Jrue out of respect and bottoming out one year.

no doubt
still not interested in bad basketball...zion williamson will barely be 19 when he's drafted. kevin knox will be 20, and he might not be any good. the pels draft pick will be 19 or so. the other one or two picks, same.

no thanks
