Definitely don't need an hour long show for these awards.

The fact that this could be close is silly.

Yeah I am Jose homer but didn’t Judge do something this year that hasn’t been done since Mantle?

MVP was voted before the playoffs began so that is irrelevant

My point was that judges 200+ ks is a big deal and the best example of it was when they played head to head. I also think that a .40 point difference in batting average negates the slight slight difference in OBP. A walk doesn't move people from 1st to 3rd and the only place that has a chance of reflecting is in batting average. Also altuve a superior bat control and contact approach resulted in moving runners from 2nd to 3rd even in outs.

if you want to negate OBP, looking to power numbers, not batting average

THE STORYBOOK SEASON IS COMPLETE

This season will be very hard to beat for future Astros teams in terms of best ever. What a blast it’s been to watch

Stanton edges Votto by two points. Wow.

I thought Stanton would win going away but, as a Votto fan, it frustrates me he was that close to his 2nd mvp. Great to see the voters acknowledging the advanced numbers for him though. And outside of wanting Votto to win, ood to see Stanton get an MVP. Same for Altuve.

Judges huge first half and up and down season were definitely a big factor in the votes. Not saying he wouldve or shouldve won, but if his year was less up and down and more consistent with the same final numbers, i feel like the vote wouldve been a lot closer.
