I don't mind him, he is a great player. I wouldn't have been upset with Ramirez or Trout either

I have no problem with you Ag, nor do I have a problem with Judge. I've stated since this debate started that Altuve should win it without question. I went so far to even say that I would have no respect for the award going forward if Altuve didn't win it. I'm just reinforcing my position from the beginning. No disrespect intended.

Judge could have won it, it was closer than what the votes looked like and what Astros fans want to believe. The graphic a few pages later shows that where Judge leads in a lot of important categories.

It's unfortunate that the debate has to have a loser... Altuve, Judge, Trout - all 3 are incredible baseball talents.

For me, what it came down to was looking at what happened with the Yankees when Judge took his mid season nap - they still won at a high percentage. To me, that means his value was diminished.

Now, what happened when Correa and the starting rotation went on the DL? Altuve kicked arse and carried the team. To me, that means his value is increased.

Those two things tip the scales after weighing the statistics categories.

And plus, I'm an Astros homer, so I also wanted Altuve to win, so my evaluation is slanted.

They were like 2 games over .500 during his slump.... They were 1 game under in August during his worst month. Not really a "high" clip... But like I said, Altuve is worthy but to act like Judge wasn't is kinda idiotic which is what I'm seeing some individuals do.

Has anyone really said that Judge wasn't worthy? Dude had an amazing season, I thought the voting would be a lot closer than it was.

He's directing that at me. Judge had a great year and, in a different season, would have won the award. Just not in 2017. The award is so much more than simply numbers in my eyes. Through that lens, it's Altuve, hands down.

Well I mean Altuve deserved it (and won) and the homerism played a part. But like I said they had 4 players with really strong cases this year and if any won they would have been deserving

If the MVP is the most valuable. Player to his team Verlander should. Have won hands down.

Context: Giancarlo Stanton has a full no-trade clause. He has not spoken on the record about whether he would accept a deal to St. Louis. For a time, Justin Verlander had reservations about Houston. That seemed to work out OK.
