I will be disappointed if the players on Monday Night Football don't do something to show their concern for Zach Miller.
Zach Miller could lose his leg and Goodell wouldn't allow some sort of patch to be worn.

I really hope it’s not the Saints medical staff doing the surgery.
You think the Saints have a vascular surgeon hanging out on their staff?

UMC has the NFL contract for all visiting teams.

quote:100% they didnt rule it incomplete because he let go of the ball. Thats just what fricking blandino said. They ruled that the nose of the ball touched the ground while it was loose initially. Before the roll over. 90% of the controversy from these reviews comes from the speculation of the broadcast team being taken as gospel.
I don't think the overturn was necessarily that egregious, it's the goddamn rule that is that egregious. It's probably the worst rule in football and it needs to be fricking changed. That shite was a catch and any rule that allows any interpretation to show otherwise is asinine.

But there is a MASSIVE difference between the two from a rules standpoint.
One is a running play where the ball in in continuous possession and becomes dead when it breaks the plane.
The other is a "loose ball play" and possession must be established

I hope we get an update on this soon.

The Bears deemed Miller's emergency operation "successful." They called the procedure "vascular surgery to repair a torn popliteal artery." Per ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Miller underwent a post-surgery MRI to "evaluate blood flow and anatomy of injured leg." No one has said for sure yet that Miller is out of the woods with regards to keeping his leg, but it's beginning to trend that way.

Good news there.
What a nightmare situation to be in, though. Just horrible.

It always blows my mind how this kind of info gets out.
It’s like HIPAA doesn’t apply to athletes. This is the kind of shite I’d want to keep private

Perhaps...MAYBE...he signed off on the information getting to the public.

quote:Honestly everything wrong with the NFL can be summed up to the catch rule in recent years. They took something as simple as a catch, and managed to frick it 10 ways in the last few years
I prefer schoolyard rules. If you would call it a catch while playing with your buddies, it's a catch. No need to go to super slo-mo to determine if the ball shifted an inch and touches the ground.

He isn't playing again after this

And he's right, info always gets out.

No I get letting people know he’s ok, but when you hear reports that they are in surgery and he may lose the leg in the first place.
And I get some people probably do sign off, but the amount of information that gets out consistently kinda blows my mind.

I'd bet it's not coming out from the hospital itself. They're relaying info to the team and someone in the organization is letting the info out.

And honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they do sign like a general release with the teams but still, this sis one thing I wouldn’t want getting out.
Posted on 10/30/17 at 3:16 pm to Lester Earl
I wouldn't want to play again after that anyway.
