So...they're going to build a fence, and make you pay for it. Sounds familiar.

Thats exactly why most of my current neighbors at my residence are deer, racoons and Squirrels. Highly recommend woods as neighbors

I served on a board with a man who was several years older than me. For some reason he did not like me and I honestly do not know why. Finally he went into one cussing tirade too many. I told him that he did not impress me, I too can cuss, to back the f**k up, start over, and in the meantime go check the air pressure in my tires (he was retired from the tire business). After that I never had another problem with him.

Does there have to be fence?

Now that it's been deemed 'yours'..rip it down and inform her you will not be putting a new fence up.

I would wonder if there is some kind of documentation you need to make sure to keep in case they try to take legal action.

Had a crusty old neighbor always bitching at me and complaining about this or that. I was always polite and would smile and nod my head. She finally got too aggressive and busted in my house one day through the back door without knocking intending to complain about something. My dog tore her arse up.

She hired a lawyer and he sent me a threatening letter about her injuries. I replied in writing that if I heard another word I was having her charged criminally for the illegal entry and they could sort that out.

Never heard from her again beyond the mean stares when she drives past.

Just a standard 6' wooden fence. The crazy part is it's her fence along the back of her yard. The trees hanging over her fence causing the fence problem are on her property. Our home is next to hers. That fence is 100% hers and the tress.

Well if this is the case she can go frick herself. Her trees, her fence, her problem. I deal with it by telling them to get fricked and start calling the cops on them all the time.

This. Some retired old people have so much time on their hands, they live for stuff like this. Just ignore them and drive them crazy.

On one hand, something there is that doesn't love a wall. However, on the other hand, good fences make good neighbors.

The world may never know.

Cave and do as she asks. Must respect your elders.

Ps only if she has pull in city hall.

Dealing with similar situation. My neighbor is an old lady. Her oak tree branches are starting to lean on my roof and tangling with the electrical wire running to the house. Called entergy and they said since it's on my side of the sidewalk they will disconnect the line while we have the branches trimmed. Called a tree cutting service for a quote. $500...Give the quote to her and tell her she needs to get this taken care of since the branches could cause damage to my roof if a bad storm comes and it's a fire hazard to have the wires tangled in the branches. She basically told me that the tree is older than both of us combined and she refused to cut it/trim it. I showed her the wires and she pretty much told me to go frick myself, in a more polite way lol. So I'm debating either to get the neighborhood association involved or just cut it and wait outside with a beer and a smile waiting for her to see it.
