bro, you're being a little dramatic. It will be tried at the 16th district courthouse. They will pull the jury from 3 parishes. 99% of the jury pool will never have heard of this case.
You're right, I am being a little dramatic. But when the DA finishes with this, if it is held in the 16th District they're going to wish they had asked for a change of venue.

My stepmom is from Jeanerette and she knew him. Very sad and I hope they find him safe and sound

Jeanerette is not the same great place that I grew up in. To say that it's a shite hole, however, is just wrong. It was a great little town in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. We had a lot of friends and fun. Although it's not perfect, there are still a lot of good people here. I'm currently here to visit my elderly mother and just spent yesterday, Christmas, with our extended family of 22 people who covered 4 generations from age 94, my mother, to age 6 months, her great great grand child.
Howard Poche was a gentle, kind person who not only would never hurt anyone, but only wanted to help anyone he could. I hope I can refer to him in the present sense rather than the past tense moving forward.

Sorry ... The OP has misinformation about his uncle being found and I dissed KATC for having bad info that they were still looking.
I surely hope that they find this gentleman.

Guy from work & his wife went and joined the search for him this morning. They are parishioners at the church where the missing man served as an usher and knew him casually like many others did. Their search area was adjacent to the Ag Center station off hwy 87.
Word was the man's trash can is missing along with some cinder blocks that were known to be by his house although I wouldn't consider this to be a fact yet as no official announcement of such has been made that I've seen anywhere.

From KLFY
Found a woman cleaning up blood at a missing person's home and subsequently released her???
quote:
Upon arrival at Poche’s home, a parishioner found a woman cleaning up a “considerable amount of blood” upon arrival, according to Ackal.
A knife was also found at the house.
Jeanerette Police arrived on scene and detained the woman. She was later released from police custody.

And to call it that on a thread discussing the probable murder of a harmless old man says more about you, than the condition of Jeanerette.
I agree with you, don't know why people are shitting on you

You are so right. I love to go home and while saddened by the downturn in the town the beautiful old homes are still there as is the Bayou Teche.
I get that this is the OT but come on.............

That picture reminds me of both my grandfathers. Good old Cajun men with their pen and notepad in their pocket. My grandpa would loan people money and track it in his notepad. He did this in Ville Platte and loaned to all the poor blacks and whites. Apparently they respected him because he was never robbed and almost everyone paid him back.

Jeanerette was an awesome place as a kid. I will always love it. Everybody was so close and happy. We hunted, fished, farmed, and gardened. I lived in new iberia and bayou jack but spent summers with my grandmother who is first cousins with T-Howard Poche. Ive seen the best and now the worst of Jeanerette. Main st. Is not very nice any more as i rode down it this weekend i couldnt help to think that its not what i remember it as. But hey this crazy shite is happening all over America and gonna only get worst. People dont just drink a cold beer while frying fish, they are getting tweeked out on synthetic poisons messing up their pathetic minds and only care about their themselves. I hope they find T-Howard and really FRY the arse holes who done this.

She led them to the two guys that they also released already. It is still early in the investigation and they have to have something to arrest them for in order to arrest them.
One of the news articles said they are looking for a white Jeep Commander that belongs to one of the persons of interest. He reported it stolen.
There is lab work to be done also. His wallet was found empty. I am betting there is DNA on his wallet. There is also fingerprint and DNA work to be done on the knife.
The search is concentrating north of Bayou Teche almost over to the St. Mary parish line, up to the lake in the north. The St Mary line is about 1000 ft east of his home. They are concentrating their search there for some reason though.
There are also cell tower records to go through. The detectives have plenty to do right now. Triangulation, along with times, can tell where Mr. Poche is now.
I hope they resolve this quickly.

This turned out to be a rumor. As of now, they are still searching.

I'm sorry for your family. This is a terrible situation.

That was an LSU Ag Center not far from Hope Plantation, when I hunted that area as a kid. I grew up b/w NI, Jeanerette and Loreauville.
Definitely could wind up being a difficult search back there, if these lesser humans knew what they were doing. Chances are that's not the case though.
