I am in Jeanerette at the moment at my mother's house. There are currently two Jeanerette police cruisers that I can see at the boat landing of Bayou Teche at the Jeanerette City Park. I can see them from my Mom's house. I don't know if they're connected to the investigation, but I'll walk over there in a minute to see if I can find out anything.

Relax. Not much they can charge them with without a body this soon.

bullshite. At the very least they can charge the woman with obstruction of justice for cleaning up a crime scene.

How do you know they dropped the ball? Let this play out and then the facts can come out. Until then, you can't say they've done anything right or wrong.

Without a body there is not a crime scene.

arresting them prematurely will just frick up the case in court. They need something to pin them with. I'm sure they are keeping an eye on them and will arrest them when the time is right.

I just got back from the boat landing at City Park in Jeanerette. The two police cruisers are Iberia Parish Sherriff's vehicles, not Jeanerette city police. The vehicles were parked; no one was around. One of the cruisers has a boat trailer on it, and there is a third vehicle, a Ford pickup with a trailer also. This is a civilian vehicle I assume. My guess at this point is that the two boats are equipped with equipment for dragging the bayou in searching for the body. My assumption at this point is that they're dragging Bayou Teche for Howard's body; that's only my assumption at this point. As a point of reference, the City Park boat landing is north (upstream) of Howard's home. Again, my assumption is that they're starting there and searching downstream from there.

There is a facebook group that is posting info

It is almost all prayers and "I hope they checked the dump, RR tracks, John's dirt road," etc.

These people should go search the places they think need searching instead of being keyboard search masters. LE has some reason for searching where they are searching.

I am aware that I said that from 800 miles away. Good luck to the searchers.

You're welcome. I've known Howard all my life and I'm praying for a good outcome against all odds.

False. It may not be a murder investigation yet, but it is a crime scene. Plus a body is not always needed for murder.

Jeanerette was an awesome place as a kid. I will always love it. Everybody was so close and happy. We hunted, fished, farmed, and gardened. I lived in

Remember going to the baseball games on summer nights, pooling our money and buying Le Jeune's French Bread straight out of the oven?

I like so many of my fellow "Jeanerettians" had to leave to follow the jobs. But some have stayed behind and are trying to bring something of it back.
There are some really beautiful homes there, made of the best Cypress taken right out of Lake Fausse Point, that can be had for a song. Beautiful bayou front property.

Like the rest of America these small towns are under assault with drug users, and suffering the out migration of jobs.

Yep, people are taking this personally. I don't know what is allowed in a murder trial as far as describing the victim, but if it is allowed the killer won't have a prayer when it comes to sentencing.

Just like they waited in the Joe McKnight case. No reason to rush because then the constitutional clock starts running. Maybe she's cooperating right now as well.
