Speaking of timelines..during O's press conference, he stated he met with Alleva at 730 in the morning. The stickied thread on the ccb stating orgeron new coach per the advocate was posted at 702 am.

FWIW...Ruffin Rodrigue was on Ben Love's show in Lafayette yesterday. He said Herman was never offered, LSU only called to gauge interest. Herman's agent (Trace Armstrong) leaked it out that they were close to a deal to force Texas' hand.
Also, he said Coach O was the only interview.
So it's possible there was no contact with Herman at that point and coach O was simply gauging interest in case he got the job.

Not trying to troll anyone, in fact quite the opposite. I've been engaged in this coaching search and the coaching changes board since it's been active and have become quite enthralled. You can look through my post history and see that I'm not a troll in the least bit, but if you don't believe me it really doesn't matter.
