He's the best I've ever coached against besides Travis Hunter. When Gilbert wanted to go there wasnt a HS kid in the country that could have guarded him back then. I hate to see what his life has turned into after being given so many chances.

I really believe if Covid wouldn't have turned the world upside down in 2020 Arik Gilbert would've stayed at LSU and would have been at least All-SEC. Remember this was the first time he was away from home and at the time the campus became so isolated that he got a really bad case of home sickness. Now I'm not making any excuses for his behavior after he left, I'm just saying maybe it could've turned out a lil different if the circumstances were different because the kid is a talent.

Democrats and the media taught everyone in 2020 about insurance and why it is OK to destroy businesses.

Dude, get out of here with this shite. Hell, have you ever heard of the bombing of Tulsa Oklahoma in 1921 when an ALL WHITE mob BURNED down the all black town, businesses, schools, hospitals, banks etc.

So if you want to play the Black Lives Matter shite, don't forget YOUR history of destroying shite.

Way to bring up something from 100 years ago to excuse the absolute destruction of cities today. Assclown

That was an atrocity as well.

But it was over 100 years ago.

What would turn out differently? Baton Rouge didn’t break him for the rest of his life. He went home and nothing changed

Arguably he was least destructive before moving back

We know environment isn’t driving this, don’t overcomplicate it

Definitely an unfortunate story but is it really sad if someone is given chance after chance after chance and still fails to get his act together?
I think he’s exited the stage where it’s a sad story and entered the story where he’s just a piece of human shite and needs a big timeout from enjoying freedom.

He is a troubled young man.

Hopefully he gets the help that he desperately needs.

Do you know how long a generation is?

You think Arik Gilbert is the best tight end in 20 years

He's not even going to be the best TE that ever came through LSU in a 20 year period.

I would say the court system doesn’t commit people to psychiatric hospital enough but we don’t even have enough of those anymore to support the amount of potential patients there are out there.

If I’m putting together a team to rob a casino and need a dipstick to get caught while the rest of us get away, he’s the first guy in calling.

came in the same freshman class as Arik at LSU. Buddy of mine that lived near athletic dorms and hung out with him a few times told me he smoked some spice that year and hasn't been same since
