Senior writer and Alabama insider Charlie Potter just posted the following:
It was business as usual in Tuscaloosa this morning with Nick Saban interviewing several candidates for the vacancies on his coaching staff. There was a routine team meeting planned for this afternoon, and Saban was working up until that point when he informed the team he was retiring, citing his age and health concerns. The team, from the coaches to the players, did not expect that kind of announcement from him today, the first day of classes at Alabama.

Not surprised honestly that Saban was working literally to the end.

He did it the right way and didn’t end up like Bill Belichik who may be pushed out after everything he’s done

health concerns
Proctalgia, caused by other teams being allowed to give players a Dodge Charger.

It’s like he sat down in the middle of a busy day and said “you know what, frick this”

Yikes. With it coming out of nowhere, I hope that doesn’t point to something bad.

Seems kinda a waste of everyone’s time other to maintain a smoke screen.
Even if he’s still involved, his successor is prob gonna want to interview most of them again.

That’s such a badass way to go. You’re the goat, you call it quits when you want

Pete Jenkins was sobbing on air today about his retirement, it struck me as odd…I do wonder if maybe there is a health issue

Lol at the coach who went home and told his wife that the interview with Bama “went really well”

Could you imagine spending an afternoon in Tuscaloosa trying to impress Saban for this to happen?

But if you listen to all the Alabama posters on these sites they will tell You that Nick had this plan and the Athletic director knew this for about 5 weeks and they are going to announce a coach any day now I Mean the delusion of these fans is just ridiculous
