This is not correct. We are still under the tax. Therefore, we have access to the Non-Taxpayer MLE.

Using the full MLE would put us in the tax which they will absolutely never pay

Thinking too small. We aren't competing for anything in the next 2-3 years and Trey will want out. His value is near or at max. Good teams know when to sell high, especially with where we are in comparison to the rest of the league. I love Trey. My favorite Pel but cashing out now it's a smart move that will help the franchise in more ways than him staying on the roster. Same goes for Herb.

My same feelings. No notes.

He’s not resigning here. It’s a matter of when not if you trade him so get the maximum value you can which is right now

What if the option is to win now, then in the high likelihood that it doesn’t work out. You can hit the eject button. Build around Fears, Queen, the Pels Pick in 2027. Then trading Trey, Herb, Zion, and an expiring Dejounte. Rather than just saying here Fears and Queen, you can have the keys. While also putting Fears in that backup PG to continue development and Queen off the bench

They literally just tried that last year and won 26 games. So who is that helping?

So I’m assuming the lanes are trying to win now or build around the young guys?

Yes. You can’t straddle the fence and try to win while developing young guys unless you have a generational talent like a Wemby. Fears and Queen aren’t helping you win anytime soon so if you want to try and win now you have to be prepared to put them in offers. On the other hand if you want to develop Fears and Queen, blocking their playing time by keeping vets like Zion just to win a few more games is stupid.

An offseason that would make ME happy would be to trade Trey, Herb, Zion and Dejounte for all the value you can get. Pick a direction and lean all the way into it. My biggest complaint with this franchise is that they’re always riding the fence. Going into this year with Zion on this roster blocking Queen is fricking insane. Why did you give up so much for Queen just to block his playing time by keeping Zion?

Pick a direction, go with a youth movement, give Fears and Queen all the minutes so they can take their lumps and you can figure out if they are prospects worth building around.

That would be so much more enjoyable than watching this team pathetically chase the play in and still probably miss it

Fears Herb Trey Zion Missi Murray Queen Bey Karlo Or does Fears come off the bench for Murray? Does Queen start at C? Weird thing about this roster is there are some decent pieces they just don’t fit. Not enough shooting.

Cool then I’ll see yall exactly this time next year. There would be no reason to watch this year

Correct. It seems extremely apparent that ownership would prefer a team that is treadmill over tearing it down and building back up.

Gayle just wants that playoff revenue. Doesn’t matter if we’re the 8th seed and get swept every year. That’s her goal. She has no intention of ever trying to compete
I highly doubt this even happens. There’s no way in hell Brown will want to play in New Orleans. He’d kill the deal before it could even begin

It makes no sense whatsoever It’s bizarre It’s exactly the thing that Dumars would do too. Imagine Brad Stevens vs Joe Dumars in negotiations

You actually might be talking me into it. Brad Stevens would rape Dumars so bad in that trade that Joe’s firing would be expedited. He would be gone in 2 years

Herb and Zion among others

Who are the others? Poole, Missi, Bey?. With no draft picks to make improvements?

That team is winning 35 games tops. You gonna play Zion and Queen together? lol That would be the worst defense in the league
I love Jaylen Brown. Trading Trey and multiple picks to build a team around Fears, Brown and Queen is retarded. Brown is 30 and makes 60m/yr. Fears and Queen are no where near ready to win. That team would struggle to make the play in for the next 3 years then Brown is 33 and due a huge extension
Zion never staying healthy killed this era before it even began. That and of course Gayle being a terrible owner

You can always tell who doesn’t belong in recruiting conversations when they say something like this.

Yeah these guys refuse to come to grips with the fact that 95% of the reason a players chooses a school these days is money

It’s early but it looks like a down year for sure.

Stuff like this is why I didnt have a problem with Lebron using his influence to get the Lakers to waste a draft pick on Bronny.

Yeah I never understood why people were upset with that. He was a late 2nd round pick, those guys very rarely even play. Drafting Bronny brought more attention, sold more jerseys and made the lakers more money than anyone else they could’ve taken there
The only way to get this guy is to pay more than Tech. It’s as simple as that.

Shamit brought up something that I didn't catch... Mosley brought up his conversations with and the vision of Joe, Troy, and... Jordan. Joe Dumars's son that they hired

He also said there’s still no analytics department after Joe fired them all
And Dumars is trying to win now and thinks we’re close. He’s delusional. We should be planning for 5 years from now

He’s literally Willie Green 2.0 he’s just a rah rah coach that couldn’t design a competent offense to save his life. The guys with play hard for him for a season, maybe two, then his message will get stale and they’ll tune him out
This has been a good game so far. Minny roses back from down 12 at half to tie and now spurs are on a run of their own
