THIS. I was very surprised he did not get more touches. The guy is hard to bring down, period. In addition to his rushing yds he caught a pass out of the backfield for 13 yds and punished some tacklers. He needs to be the featured back next season with others spelling him. We must have a consistent running game to stay balanced and help Nuss.

He is the most gifted. If he was ready he would get more reps.

Wasn’t really by committee when Diggs was healthy this year

Yeah Diggs was a pretty clear #1 when healthy. And he looked the part until he started fighting the injury bug.

I get the hype with Jackson and think he’ll be fantastic but I think it’s pretty clear that the game plan was to keep Nussmeier comfortable, especially when we were playing from behind. Williams and Cain both do a better job of that than Jackson right now.

Hopefully some of that rubs off on the younger backs. Once Jackson settles into an every-down type of role I think he’ll be downright scary.

So you want Jackson in the game only on running plays or for pass plays designed to go to him? Way to keep the defense off-balance.

Got down 14-0 pretty quickly. Th9s has to be the worst defense in LSU history.

Williams was stoning their rushers. It was awesome. It got to the point where they were hesitant in their rush because he was laying the wood

He is so violent in pass protection it's fun to watch!

I'll take some down votes for this but JW is a liability running the ball. A faster running back would have ate up Wisconsin. I'll be glad to see him, Diggs and Cain leave.

Josh Williams

Makes sense. He’s been rock solid even though he’s not a super explosive player. But he’s unmatched in pass protection and catches the ball well out if the backfield.

Noah Cain

Letting the senior get snaps in a meaningless bowl game.

Kaleb Jackson

Obviously needs more touches. If that’s dependent on him learning to pass protect then FFS we should committing every resource needed to making that happen.

Harold Perkins

Gives you a pretty clear idea that this game was about more than winning.

Logan Diggs

Think he was injured. [

Makes sense.

Diggs got hurt, Cain ran short yardage plays which he’s great at, and Williams is our best all around back. None of that should be surprising and I like watching Kaleb just as much as the next guy.

75 TD runs would be nice. Him and Holly are only ones that can.

I think they gave Cain carriers as a thank you for his last game.

Josh Williams is our best all around back. I don’t care about his NFL ceiling. At the college level he is a baller. Blocks, catches, always gets tough yards in short situations.

Diggs is a great bell cow back and Jackson has massive potential. We’re really blessed at RB all the way around.

I Diggs comes back, I think Hollly might leave. It’s a shame because he is really good, but we are stacked.

exactly.

our fans are retards.....like how can you not understand with 1st time Qb you want your back that understand pass protection the best playing the most? how hard is it to understand he has to help the QB with that and has to be a wall?

If Jackson can learn how to pick up pass protection blocking then he is going to get the majority of playing time. Williams is the best blocking back we have and that was needed with a true pocket passer like Nussmier.

Because Kelly doesn't think that getting our QB sacked is good productivity.

I don't want Kaleb Jackson blocking.

So you are suggesting we change our offense to suit a freshman RB? That's nuts.

Kaleb needs to get his pass pro down. Josh is clearly the smartest back and understands how to block. He made several key blocks.

This.

I think they wanted to get Jackson more carries. But LSU played from behind pretty much the entire game and they went with the most reliable backs (overall), Williams and Cain. Had LSU jumped out to a 14-0 lead, you probably would have seen Jackson get a few more carries.

On play he ran the wrong way or didn’t make a read and either lost yardage or very minimum /no gain.

He also missed a blocking assignment for the Perkins TD. The position is more than just handing off a ball.

But I’m sure tRant knows more than Frank Wilson.
