Takes a degree in rocket science to figure out our substitution pattern. Real head scratcher bc most great backs need touches to warm up and get in flow of game .

So was Alabama. And they were playing a freshman running back.

Not all RBs are the same. Kaleb Jackson has a lot of developing to do before he can be that go to RB

Kaleb Jackson was by far the most productive.
I really really hope that he’s featured more next year. He’s an absolute monster and looks the part. We haven’t had an RB that looks like him in far too long.

THIS. I was very surprised he did not get more touches. The guy is hard to bring down, period. In addition to his rushing yds he caught a pass out of the backfield for 13 yds and punished some tacklers. He needs to be the featured back next season with others spelling him. We must have a consistent running game to stay balanced and help Nuss.

Hmm...1st game starter at QB and you're wondering why your best pass blocking RBs played the majority of the game?

They trust Williams and they are giving a final nod to Cain & the time he has put in. Don’t read too much into it

It’s not a mystery the young guys are not good blockers.

Josh was stoning dudes in pass pro, which was good to help out your young QB

Cain helped there too and was getting tough yards. I thought he scored on the play before Perk got the TD and was disappointed they didn't just give Cain another carry

All that said, I hope Kaleb improves his pass blocking this offseason because he's just different with the ball in his hands. He had a nice catch and run yesterday as well. I'd like to see him as clear cut #1 or 1b

Josh williams is so productive he always gets yards when other backs may have trouble and he’s the best in blitz pickup I’ve seen

KJ is a 1000+ yd rusher. Hope the OC comes in and makes him the feature back. At least 15 touches a game.

It’s easy to understand kaleb has plenty of time left . Cain doesn’t

Just felt like they were trying to five Josh a chance to woo any potential takes for the draft or UDFA should he leave.

I feel like the longer he sticks around, the more carries he'll continue to take away from the other guys.

I remember Jeremy hill at the first few games of 2012, he didn’t
See
The field much except to come in and learn to block. Once he did
That he broke
Out into a star….

Kaleb Jackson - 2 carries, 15 yards, 7.5 avg, 1 td

This surprises me. I felt like he got the ball a few more times than this. Even with his one catch that is only 3 touches.

Josh Williams is underrated. He usually gets the most out of each run and is a great pass blocker.

A mix of him and Jackson would be great.

I’ll say it, I’m over a RB by committee approach. Jackson is your next great RB at LSU. Give him all the carries possible.

Wasn’t really by committee when Diggs was healthy this year

Diggs got hurt and they were rewarding the seniors in Williams and Cain.

It’s not that hard to see.

Kaleb will have to get some fairly significant burn next year or I could see him being a Transfer guy.

He's too talented to not play, even if he still has to learn how to block etc

This was very concerning. Do we KNOW they're actually good at their job? Or as good as we thought they were. I'm afraid Jayden's game/talent may have masked a good bit of their weakness.
