Same. I’m a SW nerd but I can’t do animation.

I enjoyed it- although the 2nd episode felt incredibly short.

My only complaint is with Sabine taking the star map orb and the results, it’s like a horror movie when the protagonist runs upstairs to hide from the villain… well that was dumb, perhaps Ashoka should cut her off, nah we need a set up. Having not watched Rebels, if she would have exited with the gut stab, I was ready for the “well, bye” gif.

I HIGHLY recommend watching Rebels if you are a fan of the clone wars. Season 1 starts out slow, and there are a few silly episodes but it really kicks on as the show goes on.

Disney Star Wars is so over dramatized to the point that it's cringe. Every single light saber fight is just choreographed in a way to where every single movement is exaggerated. The blonde walking into the captains headquarters room for example with her lightsaber or the old guy going down the hall way that was a complete rip off of Vader's scene in Rogue One. They can't even use the force without it being over the top. Oh you're in handcuffs? Wait a second while I make this over dramatic gesture to simply break them loose.

Have you seen the movies? People are over the top often enough in those.

Not the first time she’s done that.

Hate to tell you, but you have missed out on the BEST of Star Wars (CW, Rebels) - and will miss out on a lot that is going on in this show - and it is canon.

It’s amazing that disney still has some Star Wars fans on the hook.

For me, much of the first two episodes was setting up two things . . .

1. Introducing characters for non- animation followers (the 2nd episode has a scene that is basically the same scene where they ended Rebels - with Sabine and Ahsoka looking for Ezra).

2. The main plot of the story - involving tracking down the newly introduced (again, for non-animated followers) characters of Thrawn and Ezra.

It was actually done fairly well, though they added a few new wrinkles.

Looking forward to see how it unfolds from here.

They knew what they were buying. It's like Apple. You could slap that logo on a literal mound of cow manure and you'd have a hoard of slobbering fan-boys telling you how amazing it is.

I didn’t downvote either of ya’ll, but I think while your comments hold some truth both are ultimately wrong.

Yes, I think there are some people who simply can’t be pleased or simply like to complain. Yes, there are also far too many people who do have a clear agenda and will make negative comments because of it.

But to dismiss any criticism of the show simply because those two groups exist is equally as bad as what those two groups do. In fact, I’d say that the reason we got the crap-fest that is The Last Jedi (and to a leaser extent the rise of Skywalker) because all the legit criticism was ignored or dismissed.

I just got done watching the first two episodes. My thoughts -

- The visuals really stood out, the world building is fantastic.

- as someone who has seen all the movies and live action shows and is “aware of” but hasn’t see. clone wars and rebels, I thought the level of exposition was well done

- I have no problems with “strong female characters” even when it’s overt, but find the need to add multiple hyper-flawed male characters off-putting. Specifically,
the arrogant captain of the ship transporting the prisoner, the bumbling governor making the speech who can’t fine Sabine and the corporate weasel at the shipyard…which was a wasting of Peter Jacobson too IMO.

- the interaction between the droid and Sabine in the hospital was awesome

- I do wish they would have shown what happened to the cat…like maybe she took it with her.

- I like the actresses that play Ahsoka and Sabine, but MEW’s performance seemed a little wooden. It’s kinda like she had only two expressions.

- the whole “no, don’t take the map with you” only to have her take the map with her and lose it was a little trope-ish and annoying.

Overall, I thought the episodes were a little slow and seemed to be lazily written. I was a little let down. I’m aware though that there were probably a ton of easter eggs I missed on one side as well as some exposition that was needed on the other, which made it feel that way. I do look forward to next weeks episode, and overall believe the show looks promising.

The show could have been called Rebels season 5. You’ll miss out on some plot details if you haven’t seen it.

And Morgan being revealed to be a surviving Night Sister of Dathomir ties into Clone Wars. Night sisters had some big story arcs in that show

I get it, I’ve tried, just can’t. I have read the Thrawn books and cliff notes of the animated series.

Also explains how she wasn’t a pushover when battling Ahsoka in Mando. Clearly knew what she was doing with that spear. Great tie in that now makes perfect sense.

This seems to be light years ahead of the other Disney+ SW series and I'm all in on the story, that stuff just bothers me.

Are you new to Star Wars?

Two things…. Where the frick is Rex?

That inquisitor has to be Barriss Offee right? We have seen Ashoka mow down several inquisitors with little to no difficulty, so that inquisitor must be someone with a modicum of legit power to survive that confrontation.

I'd assume dead. The rebels and Omega were the sane age. Rex was older than them.

Probably dead or in a nursing home. He’d be the equivalent of a man in his 80’s due to the clone’s accelerated aging.

I'm wrong that I don't trust the opinion of someone who posted "saw both episodes and they both sucked" a full day before the episodes dropped?

If Rex is alive, he’s either retired or has a desk job in the New Republic military. He’d be 84+ years old physically, unless they found a way to stunt his accelerated growth after Rebels ended. And that’d still put him at 73+.

Rex was pretty old in Rebels. Even before the last season.

Alright… I’m a non-CW and non-Rebels watcher. But I know the basics of both.

This show is very good so far. The production quality is high. It’s shot and directed well. It has a good Star Wars feel.

I like most of the characters and actors, and I know it continues a story from a previous series, but I will give some credence to the overrepresented female character thing.

Of the main characters, protagonist and antagonist presented so far, there’s one male, an antagonist who has a few scenes here and there. Droids and costumed characters with no lines don’t count.

While I know the show is not necessarily intentionally doing this (because it’s a continuation)… I don’t think it’s fair to say that someone not well-versed in the lore who noticed this as a continuation of a trend in Star Wars is being unreasonable. Yet.

We just came off a season of the Bo Katan Power Hour in the Mandalorian if you need prior, recent, evidence of the trend I’m referencing.
