Do you think the actual animation style made Rebels seem more childish? It did for me the first time. But I’ve rewatched it a few times and thought it was actually pretty deep.

Kanan had some really heavy scenes

The lightsabers didn't do it for me but it didn't detract from the story

To the people that have watched Rebels, does finding an electronic holographic map hidden in ancient ruins so Ashoka could play Indiana Jones make the least bit of sense? Sure the spinning light sabers was a cool open, but to someone that hasn’t seen rebels, it just seems like a weird setup for the show.

I think all of that is bringing the Witches of Dathomir into the universe

There isn’t set up for that in Rebels, specifically. All you are left with is Ezra and Thrawn are taken away by Purgill to an unknown location.

The map apparently leads to wherever that is. So the map is presumably linked to Purgill migrations or something. Someone mapped them out I guess.

Greatest jedi in Star Wars. If you really look at his life from padawan to death, the things he accomplished to overcome constant adversity is the stuff legends are made of.

I had the same thought. Season 1 came out when my son was 6 and I thought this was a good show for us to watch together; however, while the animation stayed the same it was pretty evident that there was some good Star Wars lore being presented.

I know plenty of people who do not and will not watch the animated series because they just don’t want to watch cartoons.

It does beg the question on who was able to map this as it happened suddenly

Obviously someone mapped out how and where/when purrgil travel. There’s an ancient civilization from another galaxy called the Rakatan empire. They supposedly invented space travel (at light speed). They did so using the purrgil.
I’m not 100% on their history, but they invaded and fought Jedi many centuries ago and lost, but that’s how space travel in the Star Wars galaxy came to be, from them. That temple with the map is probably from them.
Also in Andor we saw a kyber crystal that was from them, so they’ve been mentioned recently.

No one (Ezra nor Kanan) ever said she was force sensitive.

I think too much is being made of her being force sensitive. If you go all the way back to Luke’s character, he’s in the early stages of adulthood before he ever experiences the force. To the best of my knowledge, he was completely clueless until Obi Wan introduced him to the ways of the force. I really don’t see it as that big of a deal as to when she developed the sensitivity because the entire Star Wars universe began much the same way and no one bitches about that.

It's a map of purgill migration. The working assumption is that they took Ezra and Thrawn to their home.

Hera just looks way off, way too bright green, lips way too red, eyes are off.

It's not only her look, but her demeanor. I understand that they've aged and presumably matured, but Hera still needs more spunk and energy. She's way too subdued, imo.
