Watching something on TV with that in background and remembering my dad’s stories, is there really any defense for it, other than they may have honestly thought they were correct

We were definitely weaker afterwards with nothing to show for it but tens of thousands of casualties and billions of dollars wasted.

Might have been the first time Americans en masse realized our government was an absolute piece of shite that doesn't give a frick about the money they take from us or the lives of its people.

There are a lot of defenses for it. And there are a lot of arguments against it. It's not a yes or no easy question.

Just answer this question: is the capital of Vietnam today known as Lyndon Baines Johnson City?

considering the geopolitical events at the time the United States is right to pick up where France was unable the problem was We let the politicians fight it and not the generals

We had won the war but the North Vietnamese Russians and Chinese knew that if they just kept up the pressure that the politics back in America would shake our country's will to win

And the way we treated the returning vets was absolutely shameful

If we don't fight this war, communism will spread. Our young men need to die to contain it there.

2023: communism is everywhere.

Just another example of the US sticking it’s nose where it doesn’t belong. The Gulf of Tonkin incident was another in a now long line of false flags.

Should have never been involved in a half war. If you’re committing men to battle you better be prepared to do what’s needed to win.

Ali was a conscientious objector. I don't blame him, nor the hordes of Americans who fled to Canada to escape the cruel, unjust war.

The war was perpetrated by professional soldiers using the blood of ordinary citizens.

The professional soldier has no legitimate place in US society. He is the usurper of Washington, Jefferson, and Hale.

The Tet Offensive, the turning point of the war, was in fact a military failure for NV

Giap & other NV generals were flabbergasted to see the US Media portray it as a success
