Las Vegas coach suspended 2 games by the MSB's favorite league.
The player's union is outraged at Hammon getting off so easy.

WNBA Coach Suspended Over 'Disgusting' Pregnancy Comments to Player
Hammon’s violation stems from comments she made about player Dearica Hamby, then a forward for the Aces, being pregnant. Hamby wrote in an extensive statement posted to Instagram in January: “I gave everything I had, and up until the disgusting comments that were made to me, I fought to stay here and tried to be amicable.” She has since been traded to the Los Angeles Sparks.
“I was then told that I ‘was not taking precautions to not get pregnant.’”
“I was being traded because ‘I wouldn’t be ready and we need bodies.’”
"I was told that I was ‘a question mark’ and that it was said that I said I would ‘get pregnant again’ and there was a concern for my level of commitment to the team,”

Suspended without pay in the WNBA is crazy

The WNBA is "anti-pregnancy", color me shocked.

Just further proof that no one treats women worse in the workplace than other women.

Wild. The coach has a completely legit point. They're title contenders and need a forward that plays, not someone on a 12 month break from the team.

What is wrong with this? This isn’t a regular office job where you can do it while being pregnant
Not surprised. This is the same WNBA where a coach got in trouble for commenting on a players body, the tool used to do a job.

It’s illegal to punish a birthing person for getting pregnant.

and one reason that womens leagues can never be the premier sports leagues. This isnt the type of job that you can work up until youre due, then take your maternity leave and the workplace not suffer. If youre out during the season thats an issue, especially in basketball where you don't have a roster full of numbers.

The girl in question got pregnant 2 times within 2 years, directly after she signed a contract extension.
Maybe it was rude, but I don't really have a problem with what Becky said.

Clearly the WNBA isn't working out for Becky. Bring her back home to San Antonio to take over for Pop

1. Becky was not ugly when she was at Colorado State
2. Getting suspended for 2 days without pay is going to cost her at least $5. We should show some empathy

So I found this interesting little nugget in the article:
She's claiming discriminatory comments were made about pregnancy but she's also claiming they made promises they couldn't fulfill to get her to sign an extension? Why would they go out of their way to have her sign an extension if they had major concerns that she wasn't fully committed to the team?
She was also apparently accused of lying about being pregnant at one point, which is interesting given the WNBA's newest CBA included fully paid maternity leave.

The team was found to be made “promises of impermissible benefits” under the CBA when negotiating Hamby’s contract extension, the league said. As Hamby put in her statement: “I was promised things to entice me to sign my contract extension that were not followed through on.”
