It still exists next to Egypt, just under the dirt / sand these days. I think now it would be where Egypt stopped all the way across North Africa to the Atlantic.
I meant that the civilization ceased to exist. Rome razed the city to the ground, then built another city on top of it. Then the Arabs razed that to the ground and intentionally made the area uninhabitable for generations.

Probably less than 1%.

More people than you think could trace some lineage back to Greece. I bet there are a few Cajuns out there with a sliver of Greek blood in them. Massalia, 2nd only to the ports of Carthage, was a Greek city state in southern France.

I think you’re grossly overestimating the intelligence of the average American here. I’m pulling this straight out of my arse, but I’d bet that less than half of Americans even know who Anne Boleyn was.

If Zahi Hawass says Cleo is white that should end the argument:

Egyptian archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass has announced that Queen Cleopatra was originally Greek and not black. He pointed to the statues and forms of her father and brother as evidence to support his claim. Hawass made this comment in response to the Netflix series Queen Cleopatra, which sparked controversy due to the appearance of the character played by black actress Adele James. He added that ancient Egypt was not a black civilization and that the Kingdom of Kush, which ruled Egypt in the 25th Dynasty, had no connection to Pharaonic civilization. Hawass clarified that he had no issues with black people but felt it was his duty to declare the facts about Cleopatra’s ethnicity.

I 100% agree with you on that. But I would say that vastly more than 50% of Americans can piece together that 16th century British royalty wasn’t black, regardless of whether they know her by name

I appreciate the quick edit. It’s too pretty of a day for me to spend it fighting on the internet

Make it two.
I initially had you confused with Joeybd.
My apologies.
As for the day being beautiful, I agree. I have been outside all day.

They're in the paper or on the news almost daily in the U.S. with ones that think they can do what they want, when they want and act any way they want for any stupid reason.

I personally find the current trend of making everyone and everything black hilarious. The newest one I’ve heard is that Africans were the first indigenous people of the America’s. Not only that but white Europeans enslaved them and they were the original slaves before the African slave trade.

I remember being surprised when I started college that the black fraternities and sororities were appropriating ancient Egyptian motifs for their clothing, posters, etc. Asked another white student about it and he was similarly surprised.
This notion that Ancient Egypt has anything to do with American black people used to be seen as pretty absurd by just about everyone. No doubt the false narrative is being thoroughly impressed upon our children, though, and within a generation Ancient Egypt will basically be seen as Wakanda IRL.

I doubt it, this period in history will be universally laughed at and derided until the end of time. Or we will go extinct. Not sure I care which, either is better than the current time line.

Several years ago I saw a short feature on TV news about an inner city kids T-ball team named the Pharaohs. The coach said the name helped the kids appreciate their ancestry.
