The comment about ER's being flooded, with non paying patients basically, is right on. These illegals, all poor, have no prior experience with modern ER's & are showing up for minor injuries, the flu, etc. Causing major stress on all the health care providers involved as well as keeping tax paying American patients from getting timely health care. This is every bit as much an economic stat as anything else. And remember all the fuss over baby formula shortages? Ask anyone involved with housing for these illegals whether there were any shortages in those facilities.

You know how much free shite they get when they come across the border? Guess what it ain’t free you and I are paying for it while they work for cash and don’t pay any taxes.

So you’re ok with them not paying taxes and using all our public services like schools that legitimate working citizens have to pay for? Interesting…

There is a population of people who label themselves as "America First", among other things, who want to promote Leftist redistribution plans to aid people who made bad life choices, instead of accept efficiencies of cheaper labor (domestically and abroad).
fricking commies
If people want to stop illegal immigration from Central America, we need to invest in Central America. It worked with Mexico. NAFTA destroyed illegal immigration from Mexico, basically.

Because they believe they are taking job opportunities from Americans and causing unemployment to rise. In reality they are working and filling voided positions due to Americans being paid by the government and rewarded for choosing not to work.
American taxpayers pay well over $100 billion paying for medical, school, and other benefits these illegals get while they not only not pay taxes but send hundreds of billions of US currency back home and out of our economy.

It fricks over the legal people waiting.
They traffic children.
They bring drugs that kill Americans.
And most of these people are sending money back. It’s not being recirculated in the US economy.
Oh and the taxpayers foot the bill for all the pregnant women and kids in schools.

DeSantis is right to be concerned. Although illegal immigration poses many challenges, the increase in state expenditures is perhaps the most immediate one. In a recent report for the Center for Immigration Studies, I calculated that Florida spent approximately $2 billion in 2019 on major health and education programs for the nearly 800,000 immigrants who lived in the state illegally before the recent surge.

Fair enough! I honestly never considered the wage and employee compensation component.
It also hurts the young black kid looking for work. Similar to minimum wage. The less skilled or no experience blacks get hired last. And he young no experience any race find it harder to even get jobs because no one wants to pay a kid $15/hr they have to give breaks to.
So they essentially vote for replacement. Every child aborted is being replaced through immigration.

Now go to the emergency room in your neck of the woods.
Good luck with that.
All for legal immigration! Not the short-cuts.

Also, it's sort of hypocritical to complain about the price of lettuce and produce at the grocery store and the cost of a bale of pine straw and also be a staunch border supporter.
Uhmm what?

the immigrants will overwhelm our already failing schools where English will become a secondary language.
The taxpayer will be footing the bill for food stamps, medical care and the undocumented will vote deep blue as they are told by their "benefactors" the folks who will make sure that voter ID never happens.

I can't stand having to wake up early, but whenever I do and I'm at the gas station getting a biscuit, all I see is a bunch of Mexicans getting ready to go to work!

You are a fricking idiot in the subject of economics if you believe having illegals in the US are saving us taxpayers money.

So this thread made me look up the effects of illegal immigration and I found this:
Seems paying 100 billion for schools might be worth it.
quote:
Nearly every dollar earned by undocumented immigrants is spent immediately, and the average wage for US citizens is $10.25/hour with an average of 34 hours per week. This means that approximately 8 million US jobs are dependent upon economic activity produced by undocumented immigrant activities within the US.[17][18][19] The U.S. government continues to stop immigration from Mexico even though it has done harm on wages in a number of industries. Immigrants have helped the U.S. tremendously and have created jobs for Americans and immigrants. Studies have shown that they contributed 2 trillion to the U.S. GDP in 2016 and have contributed 458.7 billion to federal taxes.[20][21]

If you think the open borders B.S. we're putting up with is acceptable, then you can just frick right off.
First, it is ILLEGAL to come into this country without permission. That's just for starters.
Second, because the current administration is encouraging people to make the trek, those people are being preyed upon by criminals who rob them, rape them and murder them.
And, it isn't just people coming across. Fentanyl is killing young adults at frightening rates, and the vast majority of it is coming across our southern border.
How this is even a debate blows my mind. A nation without borders is not a nation.
