Why are immigrants sneaking past the Mexican border bad from an economics standpoint?

The majority of Georgia counties lost population in between the 2010 and 2020 Census. A lot of these small counties are dying a slow death. The death rate outpaced the birth rate for the very first time about five years ago in the county where I live. We need more people where I live to keep the economy pumping and keep the machine calibrated.

And also immigrants are way more likely to be producers than your average American. I can't stand having to wake up early, but whenever I do and I'm at the gas station getting a biscuit, all I see is a bunch of Mexicans getting ready to go to work!

Also, it's sort of hypocritical to complain about the price of lettuce and produce at the grocery store and the cost of a bale of pine straw and also be a staunch border supporter.

(NOTE, the original questions was "from an economics standpoint" and trying to have an economics argument here and not branch off into a million different directions)

Contact Gov Abbott. Maybe he'll send a busload of illegals to your county.

Many developed countries are forecasting large deficits of working age adults as compared to retirees, which poses significant and unpredictable stability challenges both socially and economically.

From that perspective, immigration is going to insulate the US from a lot of that, certainly as compared to China.

Because they believe they are taking job opportunities from Americans and causing unemployment to rise.

In reality they are working and filling voided positions due to Americans being paid by the government and rewarded for choosing not to work.

Massive strain of social services

And to stay on the welfare roles, while working cash jobs.

New Orleans could use a lot of the illegal immigrants since so many businesses claim to not have enough people willing to work.

Around here I'd take either. Even if they put their kids in the public schools and don't pay taxes, the public schools here couldn't possibly get any shittier, and plus at least the parents will be willing to work!

Imagine if we didn’t pay people to not work and enforced immigration law. I bet the workers would make actual living wages and the country, especially inner cities would be much better.

I didn’t make a blanketed statement. All I said was I don’t blame anyone for wanting to leave Mexico.

I can name every other fricking country I wouldn’t want to live in if you want?

For sure it would. Anyone that wants to just bring in more people refuses to realize that

Also we are encouraging the hard workers to abandon their own countries where they might create a real change for the better

Unfortunately, our government programs are Ponzi schemes predicated on an ever-expanding population. That's why our politicians want the immigrants. They don't want us to know that they've sold us out.

First breath: "Inflation is too high?

Next breath: "We need to close down our borders!"
