Used to live by SA and no locals go downtown

The new Pearl district is nice and the west loop by Six Flags is very nice

I love the outside 281/I10 west area towards Boerne and Kerrville

Hollywood Park since 96. Small town that got swallowed up, nice place to live. But yeah, Barkley should pitch keto to San Antonio. We go to Fredericksburg/ Boerne. Can't remember the last trip to the downtown tourist trap.

San Antonio is fine. Get over yourself. There is plenty to do.

I’ll agree that the the Riverwalk isn’t all that much to write home about, but it shouldn’t be the reason you go to San Antonio.

Pearl Brewery
The Alamo
The Missions
La Villita
Six Flags
Sea World
Bridge Caverns
Natural Bridge Wildelife Area
Lulu’s for the 6 pound cinnamon roll

There’s a 3 day vacation itinerary for you…

Let’s not confuse the river walk with the rest of the city.

- SA is relatively safe for a very large city with some beautiful neighborhoods that rival anywhere in the state. The city is bigger than Dallas in both population and size.

- It has more history and historical importance than anywhere in Texas. The Alamo is touristy but the real star is the Missions trail IMO. There’s a lot more to see and do including some awesome golf in the area.

- Real authentic food outside the tourist area. San Antonio has its own style of Mexican food, seafood, and BBQ and chains that are only there. Maybe not the best in all cases but uniquely SA.

- The people and culture is like a 180 from Austin.

I actually enjoy running the river walk in the early mornings when there. Clean, quiet, and cooler down there than street level.

San Antonio has more annual tourism than any other city in Texas. There's a lot to do.

Spent a year working in Pasadena, lived on Clear Lake. 4 on 4 off 12's but I worked all my days off. They finally gave me 3 days off and I asked my wife where did she want to go. San Anton. It was cold, foggy, a miserable day, River walk sucked. Pigeons flying into the bar and taking the peanuts off our table. The tower was covered in the fog. I should of hung a right half way there.

ITT - a bunch of PFG wearing baws from Central complain about a city where they visited the Rainforest Cafe and called it a day.

It's actually quite nice. The most interesting intra-city feature in America.

San Antonio is boring but it's wayyyyy cleaner than any city in Louisiana. The amount of litter in New Orleans and Baton Rouge is fricking embarrassing.

Even the Sea World sucks. Liberals have ruined it. Don’t go to see animals because there are very few. The rides are ok for the most part but I enjoy watching marine life and so does my then 5 year old… man were we disappointed. Couple of whales, some alligators and a couple of glorified home aquariums…. Pitiful. New Braunfels area was much nicer and Schlitterbon was better than advertised.

It was kind of fun when my wife and I went there last year, but offered up some of the blandest Mexican food I've ever eaten.

This is a shitty thread….of course River Walk is a tourist trap, but at least it’s well-kept unlike Bourbon St. San Antonio is a great city with friendly people for the most part & good culture.

I was thinking about making a trip but the website says half the roller coasters are down due to power supply issues. I went to trip advisor and there are reviews 5 years old complaining about the same thing
