re: Deifel doing what Dave Can't.

Lady backs are doing really well! Hope they make it to OKC!
Life happens and I seldom get to shoot anymore. I'm lucky to get some shooting in and be ready to hunt once or twice during bow season anymore. I think I got to bowhunt twice last year.
Because of the lack of practice I give myself a 20 yard rule these days. Won't take a shot past it because I know I haven't prepared.
Honestly I need to think about trading the compound for a crossbow no more than I get to put time in these days.
I do miss it though.

I have a Maverick Bad Boy mower.... love it.....
I know nothing about their SxS though.
I feel like we peaked in April.

This team concerns me quite a bit right now.
They have to travel to Fayetteville... but of course, we are in a funk right now.

I'd love for us to get it going and humble them, but low confidence that'll happen.
Every lake is different. I don't know Smith Lake but I'm guessing it's a lot like the central Arkansas deep water lakes like Ouachita and DeGray. Both of those lakes you can run probably 60-70% of the lake with no concerns but there are submerged Islands and some timber in areas that if you aren't paying attention will cause problems.

I'm guessing the boater here took a short cut around the back side of the island based on what I've seen and I'm certainly not an expert.

The only lakes I'll run wide open on are the ones I've fished my whole life, even some of them have some sketchy boat lanes and you have to be very careful.

The whole situation is bad and whether or not the graphs were a problem, that is an issue. Big screens = distractions even if it's theoretically helping you.
I use my GPS as a reference but if I'm relying solely on it to run I'll shut down and idle.
On the other hand though, I don't have 52 inches of graphs on my console. I have one 8 inch screen.

You should be able to run every boat lane on TB without having to start at the GPS. Even the ones in LaNan that are spaced way out are visible. I glance at my screen just to make sure I'm not off course but no need to stare.

You would think colleges would be smart enough to include "breech of contract" language in it. But maybe not.....
I knew I was probably spelling it wrong but I didn't have time to look it up

I agree.... would have loved to have had Ament on campus but he wasn't a "must get".

Still think we need one more guy, specifically a bruiser 4 or a shooter, but assuming Knox is back I like this team a lot.
Funny thing is, Lady Back Softball might quietly be the best program on campus at the moment.
They are having a special season and Bree Ellis is having one for the record books.

(My daughter plays HS softball so we follow the college game pretty close by default.)

I was concerned about how it would play out with him and KJ Jackson anyway. If one had to leave I'd just as soon it be now that way you have a clear 3 deep headed into fall.
Green
Jackson
Wilson

still about as solid of a QB room as you could hope for in the NIL era. Feels like we got played all along.

Regardless, legislation better fix this crap or NIL is about to kill college athletics.

Agreed, you need that "glue" guy that want's to be a Hog and understands his role is energy and effort, not necessarily scoring.
Been away from the computer pretty much all weekend and had some time to think about the accident and also have seen some new details.
Here is what I'm thinking:
1. It is looking more and more like fog wasn't a factor like originally thought.

2. If that is the case then I'm wondering if there was a steering issue or if like some have said, maybe his screens created a blind spot.

3. I also wonder if another boat besides the two involved could have played a role, I.E. coming from the other direction and one was avoiding the other. Still so many unknowns.

4.Pics of Davis' boat show a GoPro stick on the back so I'm guessing if the GoPro wasn't lost there will be a POV video and eventually the people who need to know will know what happened. Not that the public should ever see it.

5. Nitro's used to be notorious for "Sliding" when trying to steer hard at a high speed. Part of me wonders if that could have caused the issue, tried to overcorrect and lost control.... although I will say the hull damage that you could see from the news footage looked to be more of a direct hit.

6. Most importantly, the whole situation is bad. Lives were lost, a young man will have to live with this for the rest of his life, and could possibly face jail time for what happened.

And this will affect future tournaments also.
Prayers for the families for all involved.

And for the bass guys, we have to be better. I've been there, you get locked in to the next bite or the next spot and in a split second your whole life can change. Bad, Bad deal all the way around.

Knox in the draft but retaining eligibility.... looks like he's just testing waters

:wah:

maybe but he could also cause bad ripples
115 boats and the PRO GUIDE puts his boat and his clients in a bad spot in the fog.

TO BE CLEAR: I'm not excusing the reckless driving .... they should have never been running above idle speed

take the crying to a thread that isn't literally about a bass boat guy killing 3 innocent people

Totally missed my point. Listen to the David Kilgore interview. He said he saw the boat and first thing he said was "that boat is in a bad spot"

People can legally fish wherever they want to, it is your legal obligation to not hit them.
Nothing in the discussion you are quoting had anything to do with any boat being hit.

a-hole bass guys hauling arse
In and of itself is not an issue.

Don't you love how its the Bass Boat guys that are always to blame. :banghead:
110+ boat tournament on the lake and I guarantee every ramp on the lake was slam full. I have never understood why people do that. If I know there's a tournament on a lake, I'm 100% going somewhere else that day if not fishing the tournament. Why fish in a crowd, Alabama is SLAM FULL of lakes.
