I absolutely believe the OP

Here's the current update as of COB today. Our General Manager, who lives in another country as he oversees the operation of a plant in that country, is on site as of yesterday afternoon. I learned that yesterday after I left, manager was escorted off the premises, and his access to the facility revoked. He is currently on suspension pending the results of the investigation. It has become very evident that regardless of the outcome, I can't continue to work there, as the entirety of the Tier 1 management team has completely ostracized me. Not a single one of them speaks to me, unless business issues make it necessary. But, that's really it as of now. I'll continue to go, and do my job, and await the investigation results. I'll update if anything new happens.
Sounds like you got the ball rolling and got everyone in a tiffy. Good that the manager is on suspension thats not a good look if he needs to return to the work force for another company.

I’m guessing the General Manager told the Plant Manager the CEO is getting pissed over these little people causing him headaches. And the plant manager can no longer protect his baw. Clean this shite-show up as best he can and get back to making money.
As for the OP: you are collateral damage to this idiot’s lack of interpersonal skills. You’re only fault was being a friend of someone they couldn’t control and didn’t like. You can bet HR showed the plant manager the text message and he tried to protect his baw until the GM arrived and slapped some sense into him. Good thing the job market is hot now. Time to start somewhere new with a clean slate.

Word has gotten around that there is shite going down between you and the plant manager and everyone wants to steer as clear of it as possible until all the dust settles. The avoidance doesn't necessarily mean people are against you, just that they don't want to risk getting caught in any of this.
Give it a month or three after the investigation is over to see how the work environment is. If you are still being avoided and frozen out by remaining management, be sure to document specific instances and then speak to your lawyer again to see if any/all fall under retaliatory practices.

The manager has a history of intimidation, scaring employees, and even incidents of angry outbursts.
Wonder what they will find out about you in discovery?
Always two sides to a story.
Now, if he ever hits you, yes, lawyer up and go to town. Otherwise, update the resume and get out - life is too short

TD Lawyers: any issue with him giving updates that involve advice from his lawyer? Does he waive any attorney client privilege with respect to potential future litigation by posting updates to a public forum?

I'm thinking that word got around because the HR department has likely told the other employees not to interact with him. They're just preparing to defend themselves from a possible law suit.

As soon as he sent me that text I would have baited him into striking me

Congratulations on your early retirement.

So, I was called into a meeting with the HR Manager and the Plant Manager at 1100 this morning in the HR Managers office. Basically, Verizon confirmed the text was sent at that exact time, from his phone to mine, but requires a subpoena to release the message verbatim, in it's entirety. They are doing that now apparently, and the corporate legal team is handling thay part, even though Verizon verified the message was sent at thay exact time. They then asked me to allow them to have a second party company perform a Forensic Analysis of my phone, as they are doing the same to his. I told them no. I already allowed them access to my phone, and they took photos of the text and everything, and Verizon provided them with everything they should need. I told them that there is no way I would ever allow the company to perform an analysis of my phone, which would literally give them access to all of the information within it. I told them I have nothing to hide, and will provide them with whatever they need, but to submit my personal phone to a complete Forensic Analysis, allowing them unadulterated access to my personal information is stepping far over the line. I will lose my fricking job before I allow a company like that to dig their grimy fricking hands into my phone like that. The Facility Manager told me before I left, that Verizon has provided all the proof they need, but apparently someone amongst the investigation team thinks that I may have used some third party app, or software to access his phone and send the message myself. Here's what I'll do for everyone to provide proof of all of this, and show you how I'm not lying st all. At the conclusion of the investigation, I will upload pictures, the text itself, and all of the email communications between myself and the HR and Corporate team. I will upload all of it, in it's entirety for you to see. I simply can't do it at the moment, and risk losing my job while this shite is still going on.

I can't even begin to explain how bad of an idea that is.

Yeah, that’s not a wise move at all. If there are people here who don’t believe him, so what? This thing could go unexpectedly sideways and there’s no benefit whatsoever to trying to prove his case to anonymous internet posters like us.
I’ve been in political battles at various companies I’ve worked for over the years - though nothing approaching threats of violence. So I wouldn’t mind hearing a summary of the end result here, and I sincerely wish this fellow well. But DO NOT lay your life out there on the internet.

Germinator, I know you are frustrated but it may be a good idea to edit out any overly harsh language towards your employer in your last post.

Nah frick that man. I am the first mother fricker in that place every day, at 0445, every fricking day. I work my arse off to make sure that place stays competitive, and I hand manage the single largest customer we have. If this is the thanks I get, then frick them. I've gotten nothing but flack from this whole thing. I had the second in charge threaten me, and I'm the one being treated like a second hand employee because of it. Not once have I gotten an apology, a reassurance that this will be fair and impartial, nothing.

Id be careful with that, you may have some confidentiality agreements in place that can get you sued.

when they were interviewing you did you ask them if they asked the 2nd manager if he had sent that text to you? If the guy said yes then theres no reason for them to look at your phone.
If they keep fuking with you i hope u got a lawyer.

You don’t need to do any of that. Your story sounds legit, and even if it didn’t, you don’t owe anyone here anything. No one here is going to protect your job, represent you in court or pay you a settlement. We’re all internet strangers who are interested in this story but it’s just a story to us, it’s your livelihood.
At the end of all this, if you leave the company with a settlement, as you likely will since as you’ve said, you can’t just go back to normal like this all never happened, you’ll likely be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
