Why not at least take a shot at Pete Carmichael?

It sounds like he's going to be getting NFL head coaching interviews this year.

Lombardi seems like an interesting candidate. Obviously his offense would be a complete unknown, but you would think he could help develop quarterbacks.

Curious when anything will really start to come out on all of this. Saw a report of interest between Pruitt and Canada and also Rutgers and Canada

I was prepared to be underwhelmed, but - with the exception of Briles and Chaney(Not happening) - I couldn't make a more broke arse list of OCs if I tried.

Not if Alleva vetoes half of his wish list.. briles makes sense to me. He is with kiffen who happens to be O’s buddy. He would excite the fanbase. I would bet anything that is who O wants and Alleva will probably Faak it up because he is a moron who wants to be Jerry Jones

That rules out Briles, who according to Matt has a contractual provision (or at least was a condition of his hiring) that Kiffin doesn’t interfere with playcalling.

Anyone that is being considered should push to get that into their contract.

I agree, but that appears to be a non-starter with O.

So either O gets a yes man, or Alleva hires an OC that O doesn’t want.

I want Coach O to have full autonomy on his hires. I don’t trust Alleva at all having any influence. I also don’t want him to make a hire based on PR or fan support.

Aleva is perfectly justified in holding Orgeron to his word. He needs to keep his promise to hire the best, regardless of his incredibly shrinking comfort zone.

Keep him on track and give him the best possible opportunity to succeed.

It's the least he can do to lend assistance to the man he personally chose to lead our football team, and who is at best treading water.

This is a purely nonsensical list and should prove that Moscona doesn’t know shite from shingle or his arse from a hole in the ground.
Folks are willing to believe anything.
I dislike Ron Higgins commentaries but he’s right this hire gets Orgeron fired if he gets it wrong. Orgeron knows this.

Not trying to hijack thread, but does
Brees really need a coach? He's probably his own coach.
Anyway, sorry, back to the thread. Briles is my choice. If he does everything everybody says he can do, all past indescretions will soon be ancient history.

So what happens when Briles doesn't fall for O, then what?

This shite sounds exactly like last year when we didn't land kiffin

There really didn't seem to be any plan

We hire a career position coach who failed miserably in his previous stint as a coordinator?
