Ensminger

It’s the safe pick

I really do not get this. Ensminger is the farthest thing from the safe pick for Orgeron. If he picks Ensminger, he knows it has to work spectacularly or they'll both be run out of town on a rail. Promoting Ensminger is going to piss a ton of people of and every decision will come under severe scrutiny...even more than currently exists. There will be absolutely no grace period and they're going to have to produce immediately.

On the other hand, if he brings in an outside "splashy" hire, there's going to be a honeymoon period and a slow start can easily be explained as guys having to learn a new system.

Other than Briles, that list is garbage! Those are not the homerun hires O needs right now

I just want to repeat for the third time: Matt Moscona has zero connections or sources inside the LSU program. Zero. There is no one with any info that would ever talk to him about LSU football.

true as can be. I really like Ensminger on the staff and thank him for his loyal service last year.

but if he is OC, O might as well pack his bags.

Im really all for it.

HC Aranda
DC Raymond (Aranda would be a great mentor for him)
OC Canada (let Canada hire whoever he wants as offensive assistants)

You would take Canada over the OC hire you could land with 1.5M per year?

yep.
Go watch Pitt last year. It was fun football. I can't imagine what we would look like in year 2-3 under that system.

anyone making judgements based on this year with O handcuffing the offense is crazy

If Alleva doesn’t allow the hiring of Briles he needs to be fired with cause for screwing this program and depriving it of the best

So is O or Alleva the one most interested in possibly bringing in Briles?

IDk if you would know this or not, in the event Briles is hired, would he have the freedom to bring in guys that are familiar with his offense? I cannot see Ensminger being able to coach a Veer and Shoot Offense, it’s completely foreign to anything these guys have seen

I would think since his offense would be a drastic change that he'd have to...but it seems like there's a lot of guys familiar with the spread floating around. Hopefully Coach O would give him that luxury, because unless he can fully take the reigns, hiring him is pointless and if there's going to be a Coach O run offense, the program is headed in the direction of Tennessee Im afraid.
