So, you would undercut the school's biggest revenue earner to support two programs that can't even get close to those earnings levels?

Yes. If we can’t compete in football, then I would 100% support the other programs to build dynasties, especially when we have elite coaches in those sports like Mulkey and Johnson. Both those coaches are better coaches than BK and that’s not debatable. BK plays golf while Jay and Mulkey grind to get elite players
Me: “how much are you paying for your ticket?”

Bk isn’t making a natty, and really not even a playoff with our weak arse NIL

Stewart is gone

Then football is cooked. If we lose Stewart, LSU has no hope. Got to spend on him like Michigan did Underwood

This is what most don’t understand about NIL. It’s the marketing $$ outside of school by the businesses of Alums that are going to be hard to compete with. BU is getting a Barstool contract in addition to Oracle money and I’m sure Texas has plenty of businesses where they can pay big bucks and get a marketing return on the NIL. That just doesn’t exist in Louisiana to the degree of some other schools.

If this is true, LSU should abandon football NIL and use it for baseball and WBB. Create 2 dynasty programs at the expense of football since football can’t compete anyway.

At least with that money we could dominate all of college baseball and WBB while the rich programs sink their money into football.

Jonah is a little different situation. His dad is a judge and they’re pretty well off. The Texas NIL offer was less than A&M’s and much less than Oregon’s but they sold on him on corporate NIL opportunities once he starts playing. He’s not flipping.

More details please.

Hopefully paying someone to make sure you never post again.

Well you were a huge Orgeron homer so sit down bitch

Most likely going to be used in the portal

This is my hope, or spend a bunch of it to flip Jonah Williams from Texas. 5 star safety (position of need) plus baseball star player

Do you really think it’s not be used elsewhere?

Haven’t seen any returns yet so idk
Seems like we could drop a few big bags on some players at positions of need…

gave up my season tickets after 25+ seasons this year. I still love LSU and will watch every game, but it’s time to spend my money on other things that I enjoy. I’ll still attend a game here or there, but that’s about it.

Good for you. Honestly, a half empty Tiger stadium is the one thing that will get the greedy admins off their asses and start spending big in NIL in a hurry!

I earmarked all my NIL donations this year to baseball. Might as well support a program that is serious about competing.
I’m content to watch baseball and WBB under elite coaches who have the potential for dynasties while CFB burns.

Football is mercenaries at this point. Those other sports are more true to the model of college athletics we grew up watching, as ridiculous money doesn’t have to be involved to compete in them.

Let the billionaire supported programs continue to spend their cash on football while we create dynasties in Baseball and WBB.

We can’t compete with them in bidding wars

Texas doesn’t need safeties as bad as LSU does. You really think they’d counter with more if LSU offered him 4 mil from the Underwood NIL money, plus whatever baseball might offer?

Yea good luck out paying Texas for a 5 star lol

Well they just spent a ton for Phillips, and we can use some of that 6 million in Bryce Underwood money we still have for Williams

Obviously that would be amazing but that dude is definitely all Texas for sure.

Jay never sleeps and never takes no for an answer. For some reason I think LSU sent the football staff to recruit him instead of Jay, which was a huge mistake

Need to flip Jonah Williams

From Texas. 5 star safety at position of need and also a baseball star.

Make up for the Phillips flip and send Jay Johnson to Austin with a big bag.

Many of us who went through 5 for 5 are numb to it at this point. It won’t affect my life either way. 72 days til baseball.

Florida just lost their freshman all-American edge rusher to the portal, so there’s that at least

When did Georgia lose to an unranked team?
or inferior talented teams. You didn’t just lose to Ole Miss, they blew you out.

And Bama has 3 losses. Also to unranked and lesser talented teams

When you have a team losing to multiple unranked or inferior teams talent wise, you aren’t a NC contender. An SEC team will not win the playoff this year.
