Out spent little nicky

And guess what happens

Little nicky can’t win

NIL

Every program can buy players now

nicky is not the best coach without the best players

We are watching this in real time

Same problem Texas has/had. The boosters have serious money and are very influential not just in school politics but also state and national politics.

The old baws loved to meddle and force the ADs hand on the coaches. However, in the case of Jimbo, he suffered from never being able to find that real QB to go along with all of the skill talent he had accumulated.

His defenses were fine. Not out of this world spectacular, but if he had a good QB he could have been a real factor.

People keep assuming that endowment money equals money to hire football coaches

If funds are unlimited, please explain why they are going cheap this time.

To finalize this conversation. 2 things can be true at the same time.

1: they are a cult, haven’t won anything since Roosevelt, baby brother to UT, gay

2: is a sleeping giant with NIL

There’s virtually no difference in desirability between the majority of these jobs. Texas A&M stole a coach directly from the school you ranked #1 within less than a handful of coaches ago.

I don’t think they will go “cheap”. I think they will go with a medium contract with incentives

Yea, except like creating slush funds at a childrens hospital. You're right about cheating. A&M certainly won't be alone.

I have heard that for most of my life and very few times have they been able to put together a team that can actually compete for a conference title.

Being able to buy recruits seemed to have hurt them far more than it helped.
