Coaching candidates who have gotten beyond the courting phase and are in serious talks with LSU (through agents) have to have a comprehensive plan in place to deal with NIL and its future implications. Stephanie Rempe is pushing hard for a coach who understands NIL and is forward thinking.

They saw firsthand what happened with a fractured team going into the season; some of which they believe was exacerbated by NIL deals benefitting only some individuals.

Something to think about.

Meaning, how to sell it to players?

Stuff like this is why nobody should worry if it’s like Tucker or even Bill O’Brien. They aren’t just looking at everyone’s Wikipedia page and then rolling with whoever’s looks the shiniest

Any coach who is currently employed is not gonna have the time to sit down & create some plan for a job interview. Maybe they have something in place at their current job that they can bring with them, but they're not going to do Rempe's job for her.

Are you suggesting prospective coaches need a comprehensive NIL business strategy developed on their own? I’d like coaches to be aware from a competitive standpoint on selling to recruits, but reviewing P&L with companies on their marketing investment seems distracting from core coaching responsibilities.

Just hire an intelligent coach and this will work itself out. That Remp chick seems well qualified to assist coaches on NIL, not to demand a fully baked plan from a coach.

I think it’s less about having some unique plan and more about being open minded and forward looking.

I guarantee there are a lot of successful coaches who are currently either in denial, resistant to change or are not thinking about this proactively.

You need to find a coach who is forward thinking and can roll with the changes. So like the anti Miles or O.

I’m taking a short text and expanding on it to make the OP.

I don’t think they’re asking for a thesis paper to be written. They just want a coach to have a plan for NIL inside their football program and how they’re gonna deal with it.

The point is that no stone is being left unturned

Coach needs to have his own ponamsky in place to handle this NIL stiff and keep the media in their place.

Is it coming as a surprise to them that some players are more marketable than other players?

We have some fricking morons on the team.

They’re already making millions of dollars. They can delegate, hire a minion to put it together, and then sign off on it

Sounds like Ponamsky job, which contributed to the problem we face today.

The best way to me is you your NIL deal will be split per game played. As long as you stay on team, you get the full amount. You quit on the team, you forfeit the remainder of the amount.

NIL is something for support staff, not.a HC

The HC shoos help with ideas, but that is an admin job

How long before a top recruit makes demands that he will go to the team that guarantees him the most through NIL
Heck, it’s probably already happened

The difference is hiring someone competent and qualified to handle such things, rather than spending all day posting on Tiger Rant.

New coach more needs to have a plan to take advantage of the transfer portal given the depleted state of the roster.

Woodward and Rempe disagree with you. And that’s why you’re not in their shoes.

already happening, and its what the OP is talking about. The HC doesnt need to have a damn thesis put together but he to have a plan to get a team together to handle that in the support role and he needs to have an understanding on how all of this will play with each player and how you will create a culture......essentially opposite of what we have now.

as far as the NIL only gets paid for games played.....dude the schools are not the ones making the contracts for NIL. thats outside schools control. But they sure as frick can line up big boosters to help provide NIL deals.
