In your opinion who are some examples who fit this description?

Shocking a guy with morning radio experience wasn’t equipped to handle that. In his defense through, NIL wasn’t a thing then so it wasn’t in his book Derek plagiarized

I disagree if it has such a great effect on his locker room a coach needs to have a handle on it that admin executes.

Right, and I can understand having him around to schedule media appearances and things of that nature. But you’re telling me this guy is vetting coaching candidates, coordinating NIL, involved in recruiting and personnel meetings? Come on man.

Scarborough and Songy were talking about Rempe last night on Tigerbaits YouTube show. She sounds like an impressive person and is going to get LSU the beat possible coach.

Do you just mean he needs to recognize it and send them to a separate entity? Because that's about all the responsiblity the HC should have.
It's one thing to recognize locker room divide, and delegate to another department.

It's another thing to pick up the phone between game planning and call Brandon Landry so he can give a 3rd string player a Walk on's commercial.

The best way to me is you your NIL deal will be split per game played. As long as you stay on team, you get the full amount. You quit on the team, you forfeit the remainder of the amount.

Ok genius, I own company X and sign a LSU player to a NIL deal how can LSU dictate to me how I can pay the player? News Flash! They cant! Do you even understand how NIL works?

LSU needs to have a person, or team of people, that coordinates with players and helps them navigate and make decisions on Potential NIL deals IMO.

Not a coach, but an NIL support staff within the AD

Yes

the coach has an over arching policy on it, admin does the day to day.

NIL shouldn’t be the head football coach’s responsibility. The AD should be running the show when it comes to comprehensive NIL plan, etc.

I actually believe this and it’s extremely smart.

Rempe is an impressive leader. She’ll probably be an AD in the near future.

Matt and Jordy have both explicitly said that Derek was in charge of roster management.

Even Les’ right hand guy was that Dingman dude who played at Michigan and had degrees in sports management and shite

Amazing

This says to me that the coach will be under 50... Need the young coach who is willing to learn to be part coach/ part agent.

How long before a top recruit makes demands that he will go to the team that guarantees him the most through NIL
Heck, it’s probably already happened

I mean ... the top QB recruit in the next class skipped his senior season so he could go to Ohio State early because of a $1million NIL deal that was waiting on him. So yep, it's happening.

Honestly, the NIL stuff should be a team of legal and financial consultants available to all athletes that would both help sponsors find the right targets and help the students understand the agreements they're being offered and how to take care of their money. It would be super easy to provide opportunity for existing faculty to be involved as well as bringing in a few people from outside to assist. You don't want an agent per se, but a role similar to an agent would be useful. You definitely do want to provide education around finances and contracts to the students, though.

So Jimmy Sexton is going to be LSU's next coach?

At what school is NIL deals benefitting the entire team?
It's only top players pretty much that are getting the bigger deals at most programs.
I don't see every single player on Bama's team getting similar deals to Bryce Young.

To me, managing the program and the transfer portal is more important than NIL deals.

Watch some of these NIL deals dry up with players like Rattler and Brennan not even being on the field.
