re: What are some professions that typically make 200k per 40 hrs/wk - KwoodTiger
Finance...as in investment banking. Sure you could go to medical school or law school and be in school forever with a ton of debt, but, an MBA from a top flight business school will have you crack $200k/yr within 3 yrs. ...

re: Obama getting jealous. - KwoodTiger
What Trump has accomplished vs Obama is significantly more difficult. Obama happened to preside over a recovery that took place immediately after the Great Recession. The Fed did all the work. The economy improved despite Obama's overly burdensome regulations. Trump on the other hand has succe...

Question for weather experts - KwoodTiger
Family going skiing in CO for Christmas. 10-day forecast shows only sunshine. However, La Niña patterns usually produce above average snowfall like last year. Any good longer-term models that you guys know about that goes beyond 10 days?...

re: Houston ISD closed on Friday because 950 staff members "asked off" - KwoodTiger
Humble ISD is open. However, below is the email the kids received: Humble ISD schools will be open Friday, Nov. 3, as scheduled. Students who are absent for the Astros Parade will have the absence recorded, as required by state education code, and parents must submit notification to the school as...

Bigger sporting achievement...winning Super Bowl or World Series? - KwoodTiger
Kind of feel like World Series champion > Super Bowl champion. Not sure if it is the 162 game regular season. Not sure if it is having to win 3 of 5 in a divisional series, 4 of 7 in a championship series, and then 4 of 7 in a World Series. But, having experienced the Super Bowl run with the S...

re: Just imagine how great this series would be if this place were still around - KwoodTiger
You're saying New Yankee Stadium is greater than Wrigley and Old Yankee Stadium, but worse than Fenway? That is just false.
To each his own, but, that's exactly what I'm saying. Clearly, comparing apples to oranges. Fenway is tops bar none. Wrigley is an odd one. Clearl...

re: Just imagine how great this series would be if this place were still around - KwoodTiger
Fenway>New Yankee Stadium>Wrigley>Old Yankee Stadium Been to all multiple times. Crowd at old Yankee Stadium =/= stadium itself. Old stadium was a dump. Not just old. A dump. Chunks of concrete gone from interior ramps, etc. ...

re: Comparing era's...were early DiNardo years more fun than Saban years? - KwoodTiger
we're also the last of the anything goes in death valley days
Tiger Stadium atmosphere did play a part during that era. Pre-9/11, each guy in our group would regularly bring in a case of beer in a backpack with the backpack dripping water due to ice melting without a problem. ...

Comparing era's...were early DiNardo years more fun than Saban years? - KwoodTiger
Watching these mid-90s games vs Auburn and those were some fun times. We had been bad for so long. And, finally, were pretty good. Think not knowing that we were going to win each week but then winning more times than not (think his winning % was something like 75% in the first 2 years) create...

re: have you had sex with anyone outside your nationality? - KwoodTiger
While clearly mostly dependent on the individual, that said, Mexicans and Germans consistently the most fun but in different ways. Others all the same...Brazilians, Greeks, Romanians, Russians, Pacific Islanders, etc. Never been with Asian so can't comment. ...

re: Roofing contractors want to see insurance paperwork first - KwoodTiger
Had a similar experience in NE Houston. Definitely didn't let roofing contractor know what insurance guy was willing to pay as insurance guy told me over the phone that he was writing the estimate "fat" to help with other losses...probably have $300-400k in flood damage and homeowners insuarance ...

re: LeBron comes out with statement about race in America - KwoodTiger
Saw LeBron last night at the St Regis bar in SF. Nobody hating that dude. People adored the guy. Although, he probably couldn't tell b/c of his 2 security guards blocking anyone from going near him. Side note, dude totally blew off the couple of Cavs fans trying to get his autograph after he ...

re: To New Orleanians, Lee Circle is as much a landmark as the Superdome...T or F? - KwoodTiger
That's why the premise was addressed to New Orleanians. Clearly to the world, the Superdome is iconic. But, to people that grew up in NO, I'd venture to say many/most know Lee Circle as much as they know the Superdome...parades, bj's, etc. ...
