but it is amazing to me only now do you see the media questioning this arrangement. Where have you been? Its confounded us for years. Of course there were some idiots here "gosh guys Ponamsky doesn't do much, you're all just paranoid, I wouldn't know who he is if not for this board"

There will be a market correction but NIL isn’t going anywhere.
I interpret this as basically “don’t be Gary Patterson”
Patterson ranted against NIL, doesn’t make any of his players available to the media, etc.

for sure. Many rushed to it like it was this huge goldmine and some are probably less than impressed with their ROI. Long term I don't see the need for that company Gordy joined.
I guess at minimum it lets these businesses write off a legit business expense instead of under the table cash

So how to invest the bitcoin they have already into other investments?

This is the Athletic Department’s fault, not football ops. They’re the ones who pushed NILSU, etc. No one to blame but themselves.
Our admin sounds like a bunch of clowns if even half the stuff that has come out is accurate.

You’re a moron if you believe OP.

piratepussy who do you hate more, Woodward or Wade?

They pushed NILSU because it’s the smart thing to do, period.
It’s on the football coach to manage his players. Grudges and bad feelings between teammates didnt just begin with NIL.

I would think that this would be something that would be collaborative between someone other than the head coach on staff, like an off-field role and a law firm or some other agency that could do the legwork.
The staff role would be maybe the only role I could see the coach involved in. Something like what we have in recruiting and other administrative functions. They would have to be responsible for coordinating between recruiting and also working with current players for these deals.
Hey, I have a plan! Maybe they’ll consider me!

There’s no good way to deal with shitstain called NIL . This will destroy many a locker room of every team . Only way to overcome is to include everyone in payments which will never happen. CFB. Fuked

Stephanie Rempe (pronounced Remp) was named LSU Executive Deputy Director of Athletics/Chief Operating Officer in July 2019 after serving in the same capacity at Texas A&M for three years. One of the most respected administrators in collegiate athletics, Rempe oversees every facet of the daily operations of the department of athletics and sports programs.
A consummate professional with comprehensive and distinctive leadership experience, Rempe works with the senior athletic administration team on organizational structure, strategic initiatives, supervisory responsibilities for all sports, revenue generation opportunities, internal and external projects, strategic communications and capital projects.
More important than why we should care is the fact that SW cares what she has to say.

I think some of you are misunderstanding what they are asking of the coaching prospects. The next coach doesn't need a plan of how to get more NIL money for players, but rather how to keep the team focused and together in the NIL age.

Shocking that the NIL may cause jealousy and internal strife in the locker room. We are just scratching the surface of what the unintended consequences are of the NCAA unleashing this NIL monster.

I have no problem with them pushing NIL. I have a problem with them pushing it and handling almost every aspect, then blaming the football coach because players have problems with another player getting more than them. (If the OP is accurate).

I would absolutely expect NIL to be part of the interview process. We don’t know the level of detail being requested of the candidates, but the HC should absolutely be very knowledgeable and at the very least have some sort of plan for NIL within his own scope. I surely don’t think the expectation is that the HC will oversee the entire NIL process.
And if there’s a coach scrambling to come up with something perhaps that’s good to know.

This should be in Scott Woodward’s wheelhouse.
Woodward should have added a NIL Department some time ago.
The only thing the coach should be able to sell is referring recruits and players to said department and being positive as to the opportunities. The rest should take care of the team (see San Diego State) as well as feature opportunities for the super stars.

Which is why it'll never go away. I'm sure everyone at this point knows about Alabama and Georgia's Dodge Chargers. Now that can just be legal and out in the open ala the Rattler deal.
